Steelers ticker-tape parade Tuesday BREAKING NEWS

By The Tribune-Review Monday, February 6, 2006

Pittsburgh will throw a ticker-tape parade Tuesday morning to celebrate the Steelers' first Super Bowl victory in 26 years. The parade of Steelers players and high school marching bands will set out from Mellon Arena at 11 a.m. and proceed down Centre Avenue. Oh I Know those fines are bigguns. I was hoping for a barn burner and yep, the refs had the hose ready.

All this whining about officiating is warranted but the bad officiating happened on both sides of the ball. The fact is that Pittsburgh played their worst post season game and still won.

One for the thumb -- accomplished.

Refs to be the Grand Marshall's of the parade!

And the absolute hypocracy of Rush demeaning the emailers for whining about the officiating.

Rush carried on about a call that allowed the Patriots to win a Super Bowl.

He moaned and groaned for the longest time. Unending blah blah blah.

Son attended college in Pittsburgh and he HATES the Steelers!!! LOL......guess he's not alone!

I didn't really care who won, but the officiating was stomach turning.

Nice graphic!

It's hard to beat a team that has three QB.'s touching the ball on the same plays.

;-)

Fast Willie ........ ZOOM (thanks to # 66 Alan Faneca)!

To be fair, I'm not a big Cowboy fan either, even though I'm a native Texan.

However, in the time of Staubach and Landry, they were THE best!

What a concept, actually holding a Super Bowl parade within a the same week of winning. When the Cowboys won theirs, what was it, a month before they actually held the parade?

"Will the refs be the guests of honor?"

Sitting high atop the very first float and (ironically) waving yellow hankies to the Steeler Fans.

What about the phantom holding?

There was holding. Watch the original angle, not the replay. The refs may have called the wrong number, but an offenseive lineman saved Hasslebeck from becoming a pancake.

What about the no call horse collar?

To be a "horse-collar tackle", the original contact must come from behind and the neck of the jersey must be the first thing grabbed. Neither were true on that tackle.

The "pass interference" call in the endzone was bull. Neither the defender nor receiver did anything to warrant a flag.

The receiver pushed off with his right hand into the defender's chest to aid in changing direction and to create space to catch the ball. That is the definition of offensive pass interference. Doing it right in front of the official just makes it easier to call.

Nope, just someone who is sick of all of the Seattle fans whining about bad calls costing them the game. There were bad calls that went against Pittsburgh, too, but the Steelers chose to win, not whine.

I was hoping they would hold it on Saturday so I could visit the in-laws. Oh well, have fun Burgers.

I live on the east coast. All the sports commentators were rooting for the Steelers, ALL chose the Steerlers to win.

What would they have to gain by commenting on the bad calls? Even during the game, Mr. Madden commented on what he saw as incorrect calls.

Are they all to be discounted?
