Steelers ticker-tape parade Tuesday BREAKING NEWS
By The Tribune-Review Monday, February 6, 2006
Pittsburgh will throw a ticker-tape parade Tuesday morning to celebrate the Steelers' first Super Bowl victory in 26 years. The parade of Steelers players and high school marching bands will set out from Mellon Arena at 11 a.m. and proceed down Centre Avenue. The marchers will turn left on Sixth Avenue, go right on Fifth Avenue, turn left on Liberty Avenue and stop near the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel near Gateway Center, Downtown, said Public Works Director Guy Costa.

Will the refs be the guests of honor?
Champs!
This is Breaking News because ________ ?
Enjoy.
The Steelers are a good but lucky team that owes at least a piece of their victory to the referees.
And I was pulling for the Steelers.
Starts tomorrow? Should be enough time for some envirowhackos to get a court injunction against the city to stop the parade because of the litter and potential sea-turtle chokings on any helium ballons that might be released.
that was how the paper tagged it
I would say that the safety that put the huge hit on Hasselbeck in the 4th quarter deserves a special award. Blaming the referees doesn't make sense. Blame the Seattle receivers for dropped passes and penalties. The receiver who pushed off in the end zone was just like the Randy Moss patented push-off, but he did it in front of a referee. Too bad.
Phantom hoding? Everyone knows that there is holding on almost every play. Seattle linemen were grabbing Pittsburg jerseys all night long. Geez. I'm no Pittsburg fan, either, but whining about referees doesn't change anything. Both teams were stuck with the same inept referee crew.
Outstanding!
I didn't even watch after the first quarter. I've disliked the Steelers ever since Franco Harris was filmed kicking a Cowboy who was already on the ground! That was back in the 70's...
The tough part is that all my family is from PA!
Harris is a democrat. What else would you expect? 8>)
Wish I owned stock in a tissue company this morning. Haven't seen this much crying and whining in years.
I haven't heard much in the way of complaining from the team.
;o)
I'm a Jets fan. I tuned into the Super Bowl to see a good game. The refs ruined it. The Steelers may have won anyway - but the calls that changed the game's momentum (and revitalized a sulking Steelers bench) certainly played more than their fair part.
