Ok:
1) On the main page go to Designer
2) Under hostname or IP leave it blank
3) Set the Distro to Ubuntu Breezy - i386 ( I hear thats a good beginners distro)
4) System Profile: Leave Custom
5) Install Method use HTTP
6) Boot image Ubuntu Preseed ISO
7) Network Waystation (where you will install from) archive.ubuntu.com
8) Time Zone (pick your time zone)
9) Hardware Clock to UTC: Yes
10) Additional language support: ignore
11) Enable Apply current Ubuntu patches during install
12) Automatically apply patches daily
13) Partitioning (autopartition)
14) Disk Scheme leave IDE0:0
15) Enter a root password and another account for regular use
16) Download the ISO and burn it to a CD
17) Stick it in your laptop and boot it up / this will wipe the existing OS on the laptop..
