Well for me, 'downtown' is anything below 14th street. Xavier isn't quite in Greenwich Village, though. It's close enough to count - 16th St, 6th & 5th Aves. It's probably closer to what they call 'Chelsea,' which actually these days makes your case! :-)

My kids will probably be attending the Clemenza Licieum of Arts and Sciences. I need to find a wife to do the home schooling.
There is no way in hell that I would send my kids to a public school in the NYC area. Stuy and Bronx Science are OK, although the latter is next to the glorified Juvie Hall known as De Witt Clinton High (alma mater of Robert Klein).
