To Those Sending Children to the Government Schools:
What is your excuse for using the government schools?
The only possible acceptable excuse is that your are so poor or dysfunctional that you have no other alternative than to use the government schools, and if you didn't, the governnment would use police, court, and foster care action against you.
Please don't claim that your child's government school is a "Blue Ribbon" school. If they are staffed with graduates of our college and university schools of education, you have no good excuse.
It is not an excuse to claim that you undo the indoctrination your children receive in government school. Why are you subjecting them to government indoctrination at all?

We have a nation obsessed with homosexuality. The schools, churches, government and entertainment are all obsessed with it.

One must do everything in his power to refrain from sending our children to the government sponsored propaganda mills known as public schools.

Because most people can't afford to send their children to private schools and at the same time pay tax supports for the failing public schools.
Home schooling? Many folks who may want better for their kids
are just plain incompetent when it comes to teaching them the necessary skills.
The problem is that vouchers have been shot down almost everywhere by the liberal NEA interests that want to indoctrinate children with their view of the progressive world outlook.

Heollooooo, American parents. Unfortunately, many are to well educated to know better and would rather belive the lie than protect their children.

My government subsidized public school is 37th in the nation and has provided me with an excellent education. My family pays enough for it; we might as well use it. There is no way in heaven above or hell below that I would ever attend an all-male Catholic school, sorry. My social studies department, the main source of indoctrination IMHO, is overwhelmingly conservative, so very little indoctrination happens. My teacher spent 2 years teaching army brats in the military school at Gitmo. Thanks to the school's AP curriculum, I can be done with a year of college before ever leaving high school. Does your home school do that?

i don't understand what you are attempting with this thread? a flamefest between homeschoolers and those that because it is really the only option available to them, send their kids to public school? i respect my fellow freepers enough to assume that ALL OF US do the best that we can for our kids, and i don't presume to judge the choices that others make. my 3 kids go to private schools, i realize not everyone can afford that, so i would never say HEY DO WHAT I AM DOING BC IT IS THE BEST WAY THERE IS.

Why don't normal people take back the schools? Local school boards are elected so know who you are voting for. Attend PTSA meetings. If your school doesn't have one, start one. This has happened because WE have let it happen. We are the vast majority, yet we sit back, complain, wring our hands, cry about America is going to hell in a hand-basket, but DO NOTHING!
My kids are out of school now and I live in a fairly conservative area. But what the homosexuals are trying to do, not just in the schools, but everywhere, makes me really angry. Yet anger without action will not change anything. When this type of stuff comes up in schools, we need to call the principal and school board members and whoever else that can do something. If lawsuits are involved, instead of just caving, fight back! If it costs the taxpayers, so be it. If we aren't willing to invest something of ourselves to stop this, then when it comes to our schools, we have only ourselves to blame. We all pay taxes and these are PUBLIC schools, not private, homosexual schools. They are our schools. We should not give them up. Why should parents have to pull their kids out of public schools because the homosexual militants have forced the acceptance and celebration and encouragement of homosexuality? Why can't we say enough is enough and we refuse to let this continue?

I will agree that many systems in many states are dysfunctional. As a high school teacher in the system where I went to school, and my children currently attend, I must disagree with your blanket statement. Any time someone uses the absolute terms all or none in an argument, they are usually full of scat and blinded by negative personal experience. Yes, my students know I'm conservative and most agree with me. I do not have to hide my political orientation.
Come back with a salient point and I might listen.
