Welcome to the OFFICIAL Friday/Saturday Night Singles' Thread
January 27th and 28th, 2006
"We're Gonna Have a Good Time Tonight...Let's Celebrate...It's All Right!"
In store for tonight:
I read a fascinating article in the February 2006 issue of Popular Mechanics entitled "The Flying Luxury Hotel." Rather than a cruise ship, it functions as a cruise craft -- but the potential for this new aircraft also extends to military and commercial freighting applications. More information can be found here. Let me know what you think!
Further thoughts:
What is/are your pet peeve(s)?

Lasik still kinda scares me, though I guess it's becoming pretty routine.
Though it still can't help folks like me. From what I've been told, because I didn't have eyes that worked together when I was little, my brain is now hardwired to not use 'em together. Or something like that.
Since I don't know what I'm missing, it's not a huge deal...but it does make some stuff tricky. Like parking...I just don't do parallel parking, 'cause I can't tell how close the other cars are. And I'm reallllly careful when getting out of the car, so I don't bang my door into the car next to me. Little details like that.

Woohoo!
Do you have any ginger ale?
To: tuliptree76
No, but since you want it I'll make sure to stop and get some.

We should teleport the chips instead of ourselves, just in case it doesn't work right. Safety first.

Wonder if I'll be able to get Vernor's in WA. Can't get it in Vermont...we used to get friends from the midwest to ship us some occasionally.
Best ginger pop ever.
To: RosieCotton
Sure! Have some chips and dip. :-)
To: scott7278
Doing ok. How are you tonight?
To: tuliptree76
Thank you for the support. I often need it here, to know that not all of you feel the same way about me as those Neanderthals do.
As for the van, I think I can do it myself. just need to get a new spade lug, (female)that will accommodate a 12 ga. wire and reconnect it to the male terminal, or maybe bypass the connector altogether, if I can. One way or the other, I will fix it. No sweat, compared with my everyday work, other than the PAIN in the neck of getting upside down and crawling under the dash!!

I take it you probably didn't see the humor in Kevin Nealon's old SNL skit "Mr. No Depth Perception"?

LOL! Like on that Tim Allen movie, "Galaxy Quest."
To: scott7278
Ha! I never saw that one. I'd probably still find it amusing, but in the Dilbert kinda way - almost too close to the truth to be truly funny. ;-)

Greetings. how is everything tonight? I was away last night, because I had to go to bed(to get up before 6 this morning) and also I was a bit shy to post after being inpugned on another post (as was nowhere man, paul_denton and pcottraux) by some neanderthan men. I am still fearful that they will leave their man-caves and come over here, and hit me again, but I am taking the chance, at the moment.
Yea, know what you mean. All I can say about the Neandertals (well that's insulting to the Neandertals IMHO) is screw 'em. Well this thread is not to be about negative things so it is time to move on.
About your adventure, I remember a similar one when I was around 7 or so. My father just bought a new 1973 Pontiac Catalina and he took me to a skeet shoot. Well on the way home, something electrical exploded just to the left of my father, he stopped and we both got out. Something in the fuse box exploded, can't remember what it was but after the smoke cleared, my fathr did something and we got the car going again with no problem. There was exidence to the plastic interior underthe fusebox, it burned the jade green to it's ruddy colored primer which remained to the day Mom traded it in.

Soda, coke, pop...whatever. Heh...
I had a few friends from old MA families who called it tonic. That one just made me shake my head.
To: tuliptree76
I love that movie. Too funny!
