What I don't understand about you is why you're so obsessed with the fact that you are a virgin that you have to tell everyone
I rarely if ever have actually come out and said that. Why would I? You guys are the ones who keep pointing fingers.

So why did you wait so long to ask him. If that is how things work I would think you would be asking him everyday. "..so I think He will do so in my love life but it will have to happen on His timescale." Maybe... or maybe less talk about batman and cartoons. Try to come off as a little more normal. If you are a virgin fine, but don't go telling the world about it as if it some sort of badge of honor. So you are holding off on sex until marriage... what if you never get married? You guys will not know what you are missing. Do you really think that you are going to find a 40 year old virgin for a wife?
Hey, Ill leave it up to God and His plan. I am confident in Him. I know there are times it may take people a while to come to Him but He will accept you and guide you if you'll let Him, it is never too late. I'm proud of who I am. I know maybe I'll never find a virgin, but I don't care as long as she is open with me and lives a good, clean life. I do believe in redemption with the help of God, as Jesus said,"he without sin, cast the first stone" to the crowd who was about to stone a prostitute. After that, he said to her, "go and sin no more." As long as she is of good, moral character, loves me for who I am, is family mind and loves God, I wouldn't care if she was a virgin or a prostitute in the past as long as she is redeemed as the case may be.
So go easy on the finger pointing, sooner or later, you will get four or five pointed back at you.
That reminds me, I got to watch a tape of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. B-P

I just don't get it. I have no idea why a woman would want a boy who has no idea what to do to satisfy her.
I mean, giving orders can occasionally be sexy, but not as a routine thing.

That's NOT how things "work." Prayer is not something where you just ask God for whatever and He delivers. It's not a free ride. It's about a total sacrifice of self in favor of serving Him. It's about a perfect yielding to His divine plan and to the Blood He shed for man's salvation.
That' the problem our detractors have, they view God like a vending machine or like Santa Claus, you ask and you receive. It ain't like that at all. Sometimes you ask for His help and whatnot and there are times the answer may ne "no, not now but hang in there" or it may not be exactly what you want or what you expect would happen. I had a job prior to that and could have said no, but my hart told me to jump and grab the Golden Ring. It's like my current job, it may not be exactly what I want but the money is fair and it is an excellent chance to have some doors open for me. Before the right girl comes along, I have to get my economic house in order so that could be God's answer to me. Plus as you put it, God expects things from us too, our trust in Him, living our lives as good as we can be as well as our sweat and effort such as the case in my job.
There's no such thing as "normal." It's all relative.
Well, yeah, exactly what is normal? You start getting into statistics here and that where my head begins to hurt. Adding to that, as Mom told me as a kid, "just because all of your friends jumo off the Westinghouse Bridge, should you?" Or as Obi Wan Kenobi said in "Star Wars, Episode IV, "who is the bigger fool, the fool or the fool that follows him?"
Here we really find the problem. You view sexuality as a self-gratification; a temporary pleasure. We view it as a full expression of love: a Holy union of flesh and spirit between man and wife. It is too sacred to us to be short-changed for self-gratifying.
Exactly, I could not have said it better.
Not only that, but in our viewpoint, the Bible condemns sex before marriage. It is fornication, a sin of the flesh. Missing out on God's perfect plan for eternal salvation is not worth it. Hell is not worth all the pleasure in the world. I would rather be a virgin my entire life than spend eternity in Hell. Think about ETERNITY for a minute. It never ends. You are there FOREVER. You will NEVER get out! EVER!!
Good points. I know we all sin and many people do lead sinful lives but if they redeem themselves to God and ask for His forgiveness and guidance, they can redeem themselves. But getting back to the point, I have to think, "would chancing an eternity in Hell a good price for a few minutes of pleasure. I think not. I'm not saying anyone here will go there, it is up to God to decide, but He has laid down rules for us to strive to live by. We may fail at times but we do try our best and God realizes that.
I'm sure there are plenty out there who are just as lonely as us. It's just a matter of when God is ready for us to meet.
True, things like that can't be rushed, if you do, you can screw up and/or end up with someone not right for you.

Obi Wan Kenobi said in "Star Wars, Episode IV, "who is the bigger fool, the fool or the fool that follows him?" Dude, you are 40 years old and you quote Obi Wan Kenobi as a guiding force in your life? I think maybe that, and not God's plans for you, are the reason you are still a virgin.

Shouldn't you be at Democratic Underground or something? Why? Because I view you as someone who needs professional help instead of coddling you? The issues involving pre-marital sex are minor compared with a 40 year old going through the emotional development process usually done by individuals in their late teens/early twenties.

Why, because some of us are not like you? Maybe you'd be happy if everyone is a libertine like you think we all should be. Maybe you don't like it but there are many of us who appeal to a higher standard and strive to live tht way. If you think that is crazy, fine, there is no way on Gods green Earth I can convince you to think otherwise. You can have your "free love" in Thailand all you want, I aspire to a higher standard. Lastly, wisdom can come from many places so I'll leave you with another tidbit, back in the 1960's, there was a saying, "if you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem" and I would suggest that you look in the mirror (if they have such luxuries over there). You might not see it, but when you point fingers at me or others like me here, there are four, five or more pointing back at you. You may think you are Mr. Big, but you looks small from here. Beyond that, the only thing I have left to tell you is to "go play in traffic," I could say worse but I don't want the mods mad at me. I consider this discussion with you closed and good night.

If you think that is crazy, fine, there is no way on Gods green Earth I can convince you to think otherwise. It is not about being crazy. My last post to you wasn't my opinion, but a fact. There is emotional development that takes place by being involved in relationships. Being in your 40s and not having been through that growth period is not healthy. You can say it is God's will or whatever else, but it doesn't change the fact that you have missed out on a large part of the human experience.
You can have your "free love" in Thailand all you want, I aspire to a higher standard.
Huh? I am in a completely monogamous relationship with someone I have known for 5 years and love dearly. Thanks for playing.
Beyond that, the only thing I have left to tell you is to "go play in traffic,"
In response, I will say, lighten up and enjoy life. It is not so bad.
