I love marigolds. Happy flowers, happy plants, happy sights, happy smells, happy memories. Can't go wrong with marigolds.
And you can save the seeds so easily! Just pinch off the dead blossoms and toss 'em in a brown paper sack for the next year's planting!
Plus they're usually easy to grow from seed, making them one of the cheapest flowers to grow.
I want to put a bunch in the back by the little patio, too!
Funny, but I just can't stand the smell of marigolds. Don't know why. They're purty, but can't stand to smell them. Kinda like lilies. They are the most gorgeous flowers, but too much of it makes me ill. One Sunday, just after Easter, I was sitting in the front pew at Mass, cause I was serving as Eucharistic Minister that week. I almost reeled at the smell of the Easter lilies that were arrayed around the pulpit, and on the altar. GAG!
