Funny, but I just can't stand the smell of marigolds. Don't know why. They're purty, but can't stand to smell them. Kinda like lilies. They are the most gorgeous flowers, but too much of it makes me ill. One Sunday, just after Easter, I was sitting in the front pew at Mass, cause I was serving as Eucharistic Minister that week. I almost reeled at the smell of the Easter lilies that were arrayed around the pulpit, and on the altar. GAG!
That is interesting. I think one of the reasons I love marigolds so much is that they were one of my dad's favorites (along with zinnias and dahlias)and he always planted stuff for me: strawberries, cherry tomatos, marigolds, etc.. I have happy memories of time spent in the garden with him.
