Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You know, in the past I have taken the big barn scrapper Steve found in the road and cracked and pushed aside the sheets of ice. We even stuck them upright in the snow along our driveway and it looked like some kind of weird winter wonderland artwork till some neighborhood kid knocked it all down.
But I'm too old for that, I guess...I'm not inclined!

That's what I plan on doing to poor Ramius until I grow a little confident about driving on snow and ice.

One day I'll have to tell a few of "driving on ice" stories... they always amaze Rose when she hears them.

It is no wonder we have such good odds...Yeah, well, like they say, the odds are good but the goods are odd...

let him get it into the garage when he gets home
Right after I started my job and we still lived in OP, we got hit with an ice storm. It took me over 2 hours to get home (normally a 40 minute drive) and I slid into an ice/snow bank in the driveway to the apartment complex. I walked to the apartment, tossed OB the keys and said "I made it this far, you wanna bring it on in?" Bless his heart, he did.

"I made it this far, you wanna bring it on in?" Bless his heart, he did. Oh yeah, that sounds familiar. After one particularly trying drive home from picking the boys up at school, I got stuck on a hill, and the sanding truck came up RIGHT behind me, whipped around and scooted right back in front of me so I'd be able to get some traction. I finally made it to our street, got stuck halfway up, and Bless his heart, if another sander didn't come up and do the same thing as before! I finally made it all the way up our hill, roared up to the driveway, plowed through the snow left after the snowplow came through, slid, and landed at a 45 degree angle halfway up the driveway. I just told the kids. "That's good enough, we're out of the street!"
The boys went out later, and dug the snow enough so I could straighten the van out and get it in the garage. And this was when we had the land yacht, not the minivan, so it was truly an adventure, and one I hope never to have to repeat!

That window *needed* a big plant. ;-)
The plant has already put out new leaves, so I guess it's happy. Should be able to do some cuttings soon, too!
And the ivy is going in a pot this afternoon. Lots of green is where it's at!

I have another job interview tomorrow morning with a local computer repair place. It'd be a fun job, I think - the pay isn't great to start with, but it'd be nice and busy, and most likely a good place to do some networking even if I didn't stay there. And it's close, which is always a positive thing!
I'd appreciate prayers!
To: RosieCotton
Good luck with the interview!
To: RosieCotton
Good luck! You certainly should get to interact with lots of people, you'd like that. Local, so it's close, right?
