Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That's right! You tell 'em!
I tell ya, on the weekends, sometimes I have only enough time to run in while Steve is in the bathroom and check my "Comments" page for pings. I gotta move fast 'cause if I don't and Steve catches me, he will get very pissed at me for checking the computer and will not speak to me for the rest of the weekend, thus making for a very disappointing home life, especially when I can't get out of this 900 square foot house because even the door is frozen shut!
I'm so excited for Rosie and if Hair posts pictures and doesn't ping me to them in the evening or weekend, I will likely not see them until the next day or Monday when I can hopefully get online in peace some time before noon! I've been so thrilled for her since I first heard the plan and it's brought a lot of fun to my otherwise currently ice-bound existence.
Now here in a bit, I'm going to try to back out of my garage for the first time in 5 days and navigate a solid sheet of ice in my driveway to get Joshua to gym. Having grown up south of Houston, I am very doubtful of the outcome...I may end up sideways or something.

Sheesh, by number of single folks, we probably have better match making odds than eHarmony.

Careful, slow and steady. Check.
:-)
Once I get on to the road, I should be ok...it's just our driveway! Probably the worst that could happen is I'll hit the side of the garage or something when I'm coming back in.

Some common interests and people willing to communicate. It is no wonder we have such good odds...
To: 2Jedismom
hehehe...
Just pull it into the driveway and let him get it into the garage when he gets home. *grin*

Just keep in mind that all the things that move your body when driving are tire friction. Leaning forward into the seat belt, pushing you back into the seat, leaning to the side while turning, anything that does those forces is what needs to be toned down when on ice. Drive like you have an egg balanced on your head and you will be fine.
To: RMDupree
You know, that may not be a bad idea, sis...
I can just park in the front yard...the grass gives, which breaks the ice and provides traction to stop. When I went out to check the mail, I punched each foot into the icy grass for the traction.
It's melting, but vey slowly, because it's solid ice!
