The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh. The only problem is that I don't like sweet or bread and butter pickles. It's either dill, kosher dill, or okra.

She was delayed. But she did get in the air about 4 minutes ago. Should be here not must later than the original plan.

I'll admit it.

But then, so is riding a roller coaster. Which is a ~safe~ thrill. ;-)

Speaking of which, some water coasters have a bridge at the bottom of the big drop so that folks can experience the wall-of-water thing.

They got one of those at Busch Gardens. I like to watch those folks get swept off of their feet by the wave!

I tried getting the a map thing to work for SirKit's flight last night and I couldn't get that. All I got was the information about when it was scheduled for take off, though, I might have checked too early, come to think of it, because they were late leaving.

As a little kid, I used to go in the refrigerator and bite a hole in the dill pickle bag, so I could suck all the juice out.

My sister, Joanne used to drink dill pickle juice! She also would drink lemon juice with a little salt in it. I'm surprised she has any enamel left on her teeth!

Becky loves lemons too and I'm always warning her about destroying her teeth. :-/

My sister Roxy can eat a whole jar of olives in one sitting. The small seedless green ones without the pimento in them.
