The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Did Jen's plane get off the ground on time? We're seeing snow there on the news.

Thanks for indulging me, folks. *smile*

Sam - I still plan on dragging Hair down to Miami to experience a Cat 1 or 2 one day! ;-)

Ain't she though? Maybe someday I'll find somebody like that. That would be nice. :-)

I'd recommend standing on something a little sturdier than a pier, chica!

I can tie you to a palm tree if you like. ~snicker~

Sometime we'll have to take Ruthy "jetty surfing". Just need a big storm, some lawn chairs, some rope, and a six-pack.

:-)

I'm not liking the sound of that idea at all. :-/

Looks clear on the radar. There are some delays around Denver but I doubt it willbe much issue. She should be on the ramp waiting to take off right now.

LOL... Jetty surfing... Well... I've only done it once, and it wasn't a good idea then either. :-)

I shouldn't think so.

Sounds like it falls under the category of "hold muh beer and watch this!"

Most of the flight tracking sites don't have her flight. I guess since it is a small regional jet flight. The airlines site shows it slightly delayed as of now. Seems to be sliding though...

It was fun... Eric and I tied lawn chairs to the big rocks on the south jetty of the columbia river entrance. Had to tie the beer to the lawn chairs to keep them from washing away. Cans. Bottles don't work for this.

It's OK I said... I'm a coastie... I'm a perfessional...

Heh. People thought we were nuts. Can't imagine why.
