Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mornin'.
Another day of packing and job searching and cramming stuff in the van and fretting. ;-)
To: JenB
Not yet. But at least today is not yesterday. Yesterday was crummy and today is much better.
*writing more reports* Urgh.

Morning :~D

Looking forward to going to pick up Tweek. Pippin is still driving us nuts. I think part of it is he's looking for her. :~D

Heading out Sunday, if all goes well, which would probably get me there Tuesday. There's a possiblity I could get in Monday night, but I dunno that I'll push that hard, not with the cats and my fear of night driving and all.
When I get there...well, I'm taking the place next to Hair and ecurb for now, and gonna look for a job. Also get to see my brother and sister-in-law and niece pretty quick! So that's a bonus.
Supposedly the job market is hotter there, and there's also the fact that even pretty basic temp jobs pay far better there than they do here. So I'm hopeful. Things can't get much worse, after all... And at least there I have connections!
To: HairOfTheDog
The hardest part is likely that she's gonna be much sorer for longer than he is. Hope he's ready to be swatted a few times for being a brat! ;-)
Mine are different ages, so when Halvah went in, Tam was way past tutoring. Poor baby Halvah...she came home all drunk and sore and upset and kept trying to just curl up with Tam to rest, but she smelled funny and he wouldn't let her near. Kept trying to smack her around when she just wanted to be comforted. It was a terribly pitiful display!
To: Lil'freeper
I'm still struggling with feelings of failure here, and I really should stay off job related threads for awhile. I mean...I applied pretty much everywhere at least once, except for the fast food places. I suppose I shoulda done that, too, but there were always jobs on the horizon that I was just SURE would come through.
And I did call temp agencies a buncha times and just got the "don't bother us, we'll call you if we want you" kinda response.
I'm hoping it's all just a sign that I'm not meant to stay here, but fretting that things will be the same wherever I go. And considering how easily I've found work until now, it's puzzling and ego shattering.

I'm beginning to recognize a pattern... I get stressed when I do anything related to school. I get unstressed when I ignore it. Does that mean I should stop doing homework?
