Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That's one of the reasons we haven't eloped yet... not the only one, of course.

It's very sensible, but not at all easy.
I'm an impulsive sort by nature and it's taken years to learn how to be patient. And I'm still not very good at it. :-P

I'll have all my belongings...including a sleeping bag. So there's that.
Hopefully won't be passing through tooooo many high places. I worry about weather.
To: RMDupree
Heh... it was done in the case I know about because they had to be married for her to be able to live on base, and he was deployed somewhere... they had the wedding planned for later in the year far away where her family was, so the actual living arrangement was able to be intentionally vague. The same thing would work here :~D

Except that she is going home over the summer. The only thing it would change would be the *ahem* arraignments of visits between now and the wedding.

I called the power company. Their database system was down. They said they couldn't remember the last time this had happened.
Just my luck. ;-)
Guess I'll start working on the e-mail instead. I know it's nothing *that* scary...but I never know how to word something when someone is kinda doing me a favor without sounding either ungrateful or fawning. Ick.
To: RosieCotton
Yeah - it's kindof a weird situation... I'd be happy to look at it too, I just wanted to get the two of you communicating instead of me in the middle, so that if he backtracks more, it's not only me you resent ;~D
He's an OK guy... but relatively new to English, so keep the language simple.

Sending you a FReepmail in a sec. I'm not sure the tone is right...text can be awful cold! ;-)
To: JenB
Nope...jedis wouldn't touch it. I don't blame 'em. It is pretty different.
I just warmed up and ate the leftovers and I gotta say, sis...it tastes even better today! Sitting overnight in the fridge did nothing to take away from it!

Got an e-mail from Corin - he mentioned that the Mrs.' cast came off OK:
Cast came off this a.m. and she's in a walking shoe for the next four weeks. She was a bit disappointed with that, but she's driving and that's a good thing.
So there's that...
To: RMDupree
It was really good stuff! Unusual for me...my idea of spicy is picante sauce on everything! LOL!
I made it just exactly as Jen said, except for the amount of curry. Any less than I put in would have made it too bland, but any more would have made it too spicy, so I'm glad I followed the directions in that one regard.
It's fun trying new things and Steve was very complimentary...he has said in the past that he's not a curry fan, but liked this. He likes really hot dishes...caliente y picante. So this fit the bill.

Well that's good news. Unfortunately in Corin's case he's forced to now ask, "What's the catch?" :(

In the last 24 hours, we've gotten 3.7 inches of rain, which is a LOT for here in a short period of time. I've got standing water where we've never had it before. I let the horses out just now to explore their new lake in the pasture.
Bay ended up on the wrong side of the fence in the back forty... so the mares explored it first.
Pony went right in...

I really thought Cyn was gonna roll, she got all rubbery in the knees and I was ready to capture the spectacle, but she thought better of it I guess and never did.

When I finally went and got Bay, he just skirted around the edge... the wimp.

Anyway - fun with big mud puddles...

Sitting overnight only makes curry more flavorful! It lets the spices work in. Mmm-mmm!
I gotta make me some soon. I get paid tomorrow...

Uh, why don't you just go ahead and watch that movie, OK? That would be great.
*snicker* I finally understood the significance of the fish guts on the TPS reports. SirKit cringed at some of the negativity of it at first, but we all howled at most of it. The two Bobs were hilarious, as was mumbling Mel.
