Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I LOVE bean sprouts. Especially in stir fry.
*drool*
It's one reason I'd like to get a sprouter. Seeds and beans to sprout are cheap, but sprouts are VEY expensive. And mostly the grocery store only ever has alfalfa sprouts.

Be back in time for the game. We're back.
We haven't been doing so well lately.
We've been struggling more than usual this season too. I think we're starting to turn it around recently. We'll see how they do today. Should be a good game!

Mmmm...hugh truck stop breakfast...
The truck stop back home (well...'bout forty minutes down the interstate) had the BEST French Toast n' that. And in enormous portions. They were also practically the only place in the entire state that was open all night.
We'd sometimes go down there for pie at about two AM, just to do it. ;-) Mmmm...maple cream pie...
To: RosieCotton
The truck stop that's right here close doesn't have french toast, but they do have pancakes big as the plate. This close-by one is not much for ambiance but is close by, and we can buy newspapers on the way in and usually sit there and read those while we eat.
There is a better truck stop at the north end of town, that has better ambiance and better food... I'd go there if I wanted a big ole dinner plate sized steak.

It's kinda hard to do "turn down the sound" over the internet. My play-by-play is at least a possesion behind the TV.

With our new DVR, we can pause the playback until the internet feed catches up. :~D

Hoooooray!
Sprouts sound very, very good. You might inspire me to start a batch.
Just got back from getting my hair cut. It's cute but very short. I let it get all shaggy and sunburned this year - gotta prune it back so it'll grow out nice.
I'm also going to a basket bingo tonight (the prizes are Longaberger baskets - they're uber chic amongst the surbanite set). It's a benefit for my friends' cub scout pack so I'm going to support her. But I hate gambling. Really hate it. Lots of folks don't consider bingo gambling but it give me the same full-body cringes I get when I'm around poker. Yeesh. So I'm going to be in full 'grin-n-bear-it' mode tonight.

We love to stop at truck stops for breakfast; they're always the best! They're also great for middle of the night stops, when I'm driving.

Owl Puke! ROTFL!! Owl pellets are a popular thing to study among homeschoolers. I read about folks using them on the Classical message board and local message boards.

I'm considering getting my hair cut and NOT getting it permed this time. Haven't had it NOT permed in years, so it will be different, especially since there's so much gray nowadays.;o)

Well... the tail light out did turn out to be just a fuse. Went to ~town~ and got some.
Not sure why a fuse would blow so soon, other than maybe it was a weak fuse to begin with. Ran everything electrical I could think of and it didn't blow again.
So there's that. :-)
Stopped in ~very~ briefly at the Sunset. Deadsville in there. A few of the regulars, but nobody else. Saturday afternoons used to be pretty busy. Sad.

*sigh*
Evening, all! Got a bunch more packing accomplished today, including most of my pens and ink. *snif* Not a whole lot left, other than selling the desk and bed and packing clothes and dishes.
