Milk was that cheap at our Albertson's, too. Definitely grabbed some!
We stocked up on chicken last sale...think it was the same price. Cheap!
And eggs were a dollar for 18 yesterday - we got those, too. Gonna fix me an omelet for breakfast and then the lady is coming to get the bookcases in a bit. Then the I-don't-care interview is this afternoon...
Albertson's should have curry paste...
Really? I think that's the first movie I ever noticed him in. It was kinda cool hearing the director talk about the movie Flightplan in the commentary. One reason he chose Sean Bean for the pilot was precisely because of the typecasting of him as the 'bad guy'. It made for interesting dynamic in the movie.
I liked Equilibrium, for that reason. He WASN'T a bad guy in that one!
Now those pics are just danged cute!!
:-D
Wish he'd had a bigger part in Equilibrium. Sean Bean reading poetry...was very, very nice. If ya know what I mean.
Hm...what to wear...
Jammies?
So your dad and your brother are supportive of the move? What's the time table?
Yeah - my brother is almost over-the-top enthusiastic (it's his personality... ;-) and Dad was also very supportive.
If all goes well, I'd be moving as soon as mid-February, or about then. I still have stuff to sell - plan to put more classified ads up this weekend - and sorting to do, and I have to figure out how the cats are gonna work. I had Margaret with me to deal with them on the way out here. She really wants to fly out and ride with me to WA to see my brother and sister-in-law and the baby, but she doesn't have funds at the moment, so we'll see. She's working on selling the latest violin she built, and that would cover things.
So...it could happen *very* quickly, but there are plenty of factors involved.
And curlers! Don't forget the curlers!
Right, right! Bunny slippers, too.
1 can coconut milk
Approximately 2 tablespoons curry paste. Rosie, if you don't mind, would you check what the curry paste is specifically called? I'm almost sure there's some in the door of the fridge.
Brown some onions, then add the coconut milk. When it starts to bubble, add the curry paste and stir until the liquid is uniformly one color. This color is usually pretty hideous but trust me, it tastes good. Add sriachi sauce - this is based on how spicy you want it. Add 2 teaspoons if you just want flavor, double or more that if you want spice. If you don't want to buy sriachi (I use it in lots of things, taco meat, even eggs, but you might not like it) you can just leave the curry alone.
Add the meat (chopped chicken, pork, whatever) and cook until meat is mostly cooked. Then add vegetables. I like peppers in this - mostly green, but if yellow or orange are on sale, throw some of them in! Cook until vegetables are to your liking.
Serve over rice. The curry is pretty liquid-ish, so you need rice to make it easier to eat.
Ok. Sounds good. I'll look for the paste at Albertson's. We're going here in just a bit.
If he does that sometime and we don't notice, it'd be a really bad scene.
~shudder~
*MONSTERS!*
Just close it and count for about 2 minutes. That might cure it.
Silly cat.
The Albertson's I go to sometimes has the paste, sometimes doesn't. I've had to go to the "fancy" grocery store in town to find it. Um... I think it may be called "yellow" curry paste. It's brown and I think the jar has a purplish label.
Glad I had a big breakfast or all this food talk would not be helping the dieting...
Quick! No one is looking!
Can we make it?
Mine!
