The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I was thinking of how much money I have in my pocket and what I want for lunch. Why, what were you thinking of?

:D

Plans for world domination, of course.

Oh, I was too. Lunch IS the next stage in my plan for global domination.

I was thinking a little more big-picture than that.

Hmm... better get to class. Not that it fits into my plans for global domination that well or anything.

Yay, I managed to achieve something today.

Wait. Is killing the thread an achievement or not?

Yeah, we figure the family that conquers the world together, stays together.

Competition for world domination is stiff.

Who needs competition when you can have co-conspirators.

It is more of a survivor thing. Only instead of 'voted off' they get cast into the volcano.

American Overlord?

'Cept it really would be more like Galactic Overlord, I'd think.

I figured you could pit competing teams of Overlord hopefuls against each other....

Like Bill and Shrillery against....hmmmmm....

Putting Howard Dean on the show somehow would be very good for entertainment value. He'd be good at Overlord monologuing.

But nobody would take him seriously. He'd be sillier than Dark Lord Bob.

Hmm... the challenges would be things like "get the most people to swear undying allegiance to you in one hour" or "take over a small foreign country on a budget".
