for Tammy
I agree with you. Chris really raised the bar. He looked like the only pro in a sea of amateurs. He made a lot of the other contestants looks like they are just skating through or phoning it in, in other words, not really trying.
Seriously, how can someone like Katherine who has a great voice, but who has the stage presence of a pile of cat fur compete with him? Not only is she not in the same league- she's not even playing the same sport.
Chris must be thrilled to get that endorsement of his performance by the actual artist. That's really impressive.
This guy has a real game face. He isn't just glad to be there. He is making the most of it, and he is creaming the competition with his ability to choose representative material. Something the others, except perhaps Elliot, seem to lack. Even Taylor Hicks needs to step it up.
I wouldn't presume to advise a guy who is this much on his game, but I personally would like to hear Daughtry tackle some Zeppelin, the Who or Creedence. He's got the chops to pull it off.
Chris is another guy who you can just tell has music in his soul. He doesn't just get up there and sing, he performs, he enjoys it, he feels it. It comes through in his performance.
I think Chris gained a lot more fans after this week, and will be hard to beat if he keeps choosing songs that suit him.
As for Paula, it's much ado about nothing. Yes, she made an ass of herself, but what else is new? It wouldn't be Idol, she wouldn't be Paula if she didn't sound like a loon. She has bee surprisingly well behaved and fairly coherent up until last night. If you watch carefully though, after the cornflakes comment, Simon laughed more than I have ever seen him laugh. My hubby and I were surprised. We think, there was some sort of inside joke there, they both thought was funny, but Simon was surprised that Paula brought it up
live.
Paula indeed, was an embarrassment last night, especially the head on the table thing, but I'll be the first to admit that part of the fun of the show for me, is watching what she will do next.
Listen, if Barry Bonds was impersonating you, in drag, for two days in a row..I'd be drinking also..
I hear ya. If she stopped doing that stuff AI wouldn't be AI. She's just a space case. Like you said, it could have been an inside joke that she just messed up the wording. A "you had to be there" kind of joke. Who knows. It was really par for the Paula-course. LOL
I'm sure E! will run the Paula True Hollywood Story again in the near future. Anyone who hasn't seen it might want to check it out, because even though she's pretty lucid through the whole thing, she's clearly in her own little Paula Abdul universe.
ROTFLMAO!!
That is really cool! I'm sure he has to be on cloud 9!
Perhaps she has been offered a contract outside the 19 Entertainment franchise. If she blows it now, she might get a more lucrative offer from someone else (a la Mario Vasquez from last season).
Listen, BTW..if Chris does win....as many here think he will. how long does the marriage last?
You sure you want to put Paula, "blows" and a male idol contestant name in the same sentence?
I sure hope that's not the case. Chris married the girl and took in her kids well before this happened. I sure hope he wouldn't do that to them. But fame and money are a difficult thing for many to handle.
LOL!
About an hour and a half.
And I hate to admit it, but I was thinking the exact same thing.
The other thing about Idol which isn't the norm in modern entertainment is that it is clean, fun family fare. The whole family can get together, watch it, pick their favorites and vote. Everybody from first graders to grandparents can get into it. That's a very rare quality in a TV show (or movie) these days.
Grin...well, they sold more than Corey Clark, that male skank who caused last year's Idol "scandal."
you're an optimist..
...and I'll admit it to you..I like Mary Chapin Carpenter...
LOL! That's about it!
