THE TOP 24

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

These are the official photos and bios provided by American Idol. Thank you to Wolfstar and LA Woman 3 for their very helpful links :)

AI also provided a questionnaire that was answered by each contestant. For the sake of space—and to avoid mind-numbingly repetitive answers (Who is your hero in life? Yeah, yeah, your parents, your grandparents, your legal guardian, we get it!), I’ve only included two questions/responses per contestant. If you would like to read their full responses, click here then click on the performer of your choice.

Ladies first:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Ayla Brown

17-year-old from Wrentham, MA (Auditioned in Boston)

Ayla is currently a senior at Noble & Greenough High School. She is captain of her basketball team and has scored over 2,200 points. I have to disagree. She made me want to throw things through my TV. Really large heavy things. And hopefully through the magic of television they would somehow also hit her.

LMAO!

I didn't know you were an NC guy, it's one of my favorite states

Yep--you can't beat the weather (most of the time). Today was a sunny, spring-like day with temps in the low 70s. Not bad for the middle of February :-D

I think that Paris girl will really get on my nerves in a couple of weeks as well as that hideous Brenna.

I absolutely agree. Paris has an awesome singing voice, but her speaking voice is nerve-jarring. Not to mention she's sickeningly sweet, like Shirley Temple.

LOL, I was curious about that too. I just Googled his name and couldn't find anything useful. It's like he just dropped off the map.

I will go on record with predicting Ace Young will win this year. I thought before the auditions even started that this year they would be pushing cute white boys to the teenage crowd. Ace fits my teenage daughters idea of a cutie. She and her friends are already talking about him. I think most of the young girls will love him. My daughter also was hoping that David Radford and Will Makar would be in the finals. It does seem that the show went heavy on the young boys this year.

As for us older folks who, I would hope look at talent first, I think Taylor Hicks is great.

The undertaker happened to be interviewed by the Fox & Friends crew on Wednesday morning. He was cut in the group auditions. He was very polite and had nothing but praise for the show and the hosts. He blamed getting cut on his lack of experience and said he was just not ready. He also said there were much more talented people in the competition.

It was quite refreshing after hearing most cut contestants swearing into the camera and threatening retribution on the show.

He's doing a Ray Charles impersonation, and there's something really distasteful about it, to me at least.

I don't get that feeling at all--I think that's just the way Hicks is. Every time I see or hear him I have nothing but positive thoughts.

Kellie Pickler, Ace Young, Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks!!!!

You may be right. I can see all of them in the Top 12. But Kellie is so similar to Carrie Underwood, that the voters might turn against her. Also, after seeing her interview last night on local news, she seems to think a lot of herself. Just enough to be annoying.

"No. They let some good talent go and kept some PRETTY ones.."..MEEEEEOW..

Catty but true.

I mentioned in passing they let go some of the less than TV friendly, but looking at the pics Jonny posted up, the women are across the board full to boarderline model/supermodel material. That is why I think Big Mamma (who has a lovely face) is destined for quick oblivion.

The guys look more ordinary, but what the heck do I know about evaluating guys?

Idol was really pushing for a guy to win last year. This year the judges have seemed more neutral. Ace is a given. The competition wouldn't be complete without someone like him.

I think most of us have settled on Hicks doing a combination of Joe Cocker and Ray Charles.

But I think he does it because that kind of music MOVES you that way!

Hicks is the early senitimental favorite, near as I can tell.

Is there AI tonight? I am on a plane soon and have to ask the wife to TIVO.
