I am seeing that everyone seemed to like bald cowboy. How come? Was he good singer or just really nice? His voice was pretty darn good (Simon said he lacked charisma). But he's a family man, a loving wife (and I mean LOVING!) and two kids. This is probably his only chance to really follow his dream. That goes for the little cowboy, too :)

That was the nicest thing I've ever seen Simon do!! The little cowboy irritated me at first--he was so nervous and fidgety (and who wouldn't be?), but you're right, that was a nice gesture on Simon's part to let him go to Hollywood.

You guys got the very lovely Carrie last year. Where's the eye candy for us girls? :-( Have patience :) We're seeing the worst of the worst right now. IIRC, this time last year, I don't believe we even saw Carrie or Bo in the auditions. It wasn't until they were separated in their smaller groups in Hollywood that they began to stand out. So just hang in there--the eye candy's on it's way :)

confusion initiated by Cowell's misstatement"Misstatement", right. Unless I'm missing something, I'm sure this was a publicity stunt. A sleazy one, too.

I thought a 30 second clip like the auditions was fair use. That's what I thought too. And we didn't hear the real song either, just a girl singing her version of it.
This is a lot of hot air.

(Yes. Please build me a coaster that's designed TO SPILL MY DRINK!!ROFL!!! What possible use did that stupid bouncing coaster have?
I mean come on, is it any wonder people think he was a girl? He was wearing a girl's shirt, girl's pants/belt, girl's shoes (HIGH FREAKING HEAL BOOTS!!), has his hair cut like a girl's, weighs about 90lbs, and has a voice like girl's!!
Why doesn't the kid just go into the WOMEN'S restroom? It would save a lot of confusion ... but then again look at who we're talking about :)

That's nice. I didn't get to see the little cowboy either but it sounded like a good show last night. Rick and Bubba were making fun of Zachary this morning on their radio show. It was a hoot to listen to their take on him/her.

The news article was acting like there was some issue regarding Kelly allegedly playing hardball about her songs and the fact that Since U Been Gone was an audition song. So, in answer to your question, is that the journalist is saying it wasn't, so to speak, even if the journalist didn't realize it.

Last night our local Fox channel had the interview on with Paris Jr. It was a whole 3-4 minutes in length. They found her outside her house and she is claiming that she was "tricked" into acting like a " dumb blonde". No joke, that is what she said.
She claims the producers told her to "ham it up" and put on more make-up. She also was acting all offended that they asked her mom to come into the audition room. "That's, like, my mom. No one should, like, make fun of her, because, I, like, love her." She also stayed home from school yesterday. And she still claims she can sing and she wasn't horrible outside her house (didn't induce rapid eardrum bleeding), but she wasn't AI top 12 quality either.
Here's the thing, she's claiming they "tricked" her and told her to put on more make-up, but she didn't have on any less when they were outside her house! The mom was even more frightening then before. Inch thick neon blue eyeliner. I think that says it all.
But the best line she said was the last sound byte, "Now I know the hardships of the world first-hand." I swear to God that is what she said word for word. Oh baby, if this is the biggest "hardship" you have to face in your life, then God bless you.

They found her outside her house and she is claiming that she was "tricked" into acting like a " dumb blonde". After seeing her and her mom, I'm sure the work "trick" will be a crucial one to her professional vocabulary.

I have not heard about all of this until the thread. I don't think they should be asking to sing her newest songs. They should only have dibs on the ones that AI produced period. Thanks, Emily. Thank you so much for your common sense and decency. Based on the few comments from a few others (not Jonny) here yesterday, I wondered if it was worthwhile coming back to this thread.

No offense, but nonsense. No offense taken. I'm certainly no fan of Fantasia, especially not after she released a song called "Baby Mama," which became a hit on the R&B format. The song glorifies unwed motherhood for little girls.
And you're right. She was Simon's favorite from the start and he pimped for her throughout that season.
