for Tammy
My wife and daughter don't care for Katherine. But that could be because my eyes practically bulge out of my skull whenever she's on the screen! LOL
Did you see the picture on AI website this past week? Everyone standing up leaning in to the center (in the typical "finalists" shot). Everybody is in neutral colors. Then in the center, seated, in BRIGHT RED is Kellie the Pickle. A not-so-covert marketing ploy. Then the statement by Simon this week about the final 3 being Chris, Taylor and Kellie. UGH. They are totally pushing Kellie. (WHY??????)
I voted for Mandisa and Kelly. Tried to vote for Chris but it was busy. His Walk The Line version was very creative. Really brilliant.
Chris was OK tonight. But that "sing every song like Creed" thing is wearing a bit thin on me.
I still like the guy but I thought Joaquin Phoenix did a better job with Johnny Cash.
I want to like her. I don't even have a good valid reason for not liking her. I just can't get into anything she sings. If I were a guy I'm sure I would be drooling over her, too.
I have no idea, she is as fake as a ficus tree. Pretty, but none of the genuine likeability that Carrie had.
I spent from December until last week in Denver. *yech*
I am home, sort of, in Cal. But this week I am in the Bay Area.
But I am still out of sync.
I was captivated. He rocked the hell out of that song. He is too good for American Idol.
I thought it was original.
I don't want an American Idol to be a "Cover Singer" or a "Karoaoke Act". I want someone that can own a piece of music, put their signature on it, make it theirs.
I liked Chris.
I don't get it either. She's like a not quite as good Carrie. I don't know why they would want 2 winners so similar back to back.
Yep!
I'm in the Bay Area now - headed to Houston in the morning.
That's what I can't figure out. We don't want a repeat. We want original.
I thought Taylor was weak. But just like Kelly last week he has enough capital to survive an average performance.
Joaquin did an impersonation of Johnny Cash & while it was a nice sounding impersonation...it was still just an imitation.
Chris took the song & changed the style to suit him....it was incredible and I think Johnny would have loved it (after all, Johnny covered a Nine Inch Nails song).
Great, thanks for that horror, just before bed. Now I'm gonna have nightmares.
Have you 2 heard Chris sing "Keep Me Close" ? (this is one of his own songs) If you freepmail me your email address I will send you the Mp3 of it.
I voted for the first time ever. I voted for Kelly and Mandisa. I tried to vote for Chris but it was busy.
I understand your point, but I still didn't like the "Creed-i-zation" of Cash.
Don't get me wrong....I still like Chris a lot and think he'll be in the top 3.
I'm just worried that people will grow tired of singing every song in the same way.
But it's just my opinion and I don't make as much cash as Simon Cowell. Heck...not even as much in a year as he makes in an hour! LOL
