One of my all time favorite songs is "Old Man River."

Too bad we don't have anyone with that low a bass among this curret group of guys to carry this song. The one main person I can think of who can pull this off would have been George Huff.

Can you imagine Ace Young doing this in falsetto ??? ( LMAO just thing about it ).

I have wondered about them playing an instrument. One of the things I liked about Rock Star INXS is that several of the contestants also played while they sang. Added a whole different dimension to their artistic perception. I'd love to see him just wail on it and smile when they criticized him for it. That would likely win the show right there.

I think it is because of being in the bible belt. If you look at all of AI winners and runner ups they all come from the south where many of them have sung in churches. That is where alot of them have picked up their performance skills and love for music too. THat is just my humble opinion.

Have you ever been to B'ham? It really is a great city, has some liberal tendencies but there are many places to go. The comedy club is one of lthe best. I lived in Montgomery for a while as well. And it can be a happening place too. The best entertainment is the Shakespeare Festival. Some of the finest actors perform there.

I don't think they are allowed. And Taylor is used to having a guitar while he sings, I think. "I'd love to see him just wail on it and smile when they criticized him for it. That would likely win the show right there. LOL, I know I would tear up the phone voting for him. By the way,,WAR EAGLE!!! My brother graduated from there. my undergraduate is from AUburn University in Montgomery..

Debbie Harry Addicted to American Idol

3/10/06

Blondie star Deborah Harry is addicted to TV show American Idol, and insists most of the contestants have more talent than she did in her youth.

The Rapture singer is a huge fan of the program and watches the competition to learn from the young wannabes.

She says, "I always think when I watch this, 'Oh, my God, I would've never gotten this far!'

"It's just sort of analytical for me. I feel like it improves my learning curve. There's no accounting for taste.

"If a person is technically good, you know, there's all these variables.

"Kids are very brave for doing it."

Debbie Harry....cool.

Last time I saw her during the Blondie "reunion" tour a few years back she has really gotten old.
She can't sing the high notes like she could in the 80's.

Hey...maybe she could hire G'Ace to wear a blonde wig and sing those note for her...

"Once I had a love, and it was a gas.
Soon turned out, had a heart of glass..."

Then again....maybe not.

You and I have pretty similar tastes.

We definitely do, Emily. As far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing because I respect you.

I agree. The image is hilarious. Thanks for posting it. Jonny, take a look at the Ryan and Simon image Chandy posted.

God forbid I were to wear the wrong color beanie in the wrong pocket, signifying God knows what.

ROFL! Maybe they make a pocket-sized code sheet and that is what keeps 'em from gettin' into trouble without having to commit it all to memory! :D

SPOILER FROM THE FANATIC TAYLOR HICKS FAN BOARDS, WHICH FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS, SUCCESSFULLY SPOILED -- LEVON, EASY, AND TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS...

OK Guys, this one is straight from Batman. The Riddler is trying to test us regarding the song Taylor Hicks has decided to sing for this Tuesday's Stevie Wonder theme night by providing this puzzle for one and all :

"I'm fairly superstitious, so i'm not sure if I like this new place. But for once in my life, I found something else that just might work."

You decipher that and tell me what it means ....

I recognize two songs in there, so maybe he will a little from both. A medley? But why? There are other songs that he could do that would be better. imho

SIMON PREDICTS KELLIE, CHRIS AND TAYLOR FOR THE TOP 3 ( ALSO SHEDS TEAR FOR AYLA !!! )

http://extratv.warnerbros.com/v2/news/0306/10/1/text.html

'American Idol's' Top 12 Celebrating like Celebrities March 10, 2006

From the after party to the red carpet, the top 12 "American Idol" contestants were on a natural high after last night's elimination round.

"It doesn't get any better than this!" exclaimed small town girl, Kellie Pickler. "I can't believe I'm standing here on the red carpet with you!"

From the cheers to the tears, and in the limo with Bo Bice, only "Extra" has "Idol" covered! Out Terri Seymour was with the newly named top 12 finalists as they celebrated like celebrities.

"I have fans!" said Ace Young as he walked inside, where "Extra" found Gedeon flashing his trademark smile even after unexpectedly getting the boot last night. Gedeon made an emotional exit along with Kinnik, Will and Ayla, whose goodbye made Mr. Mean melt. "I saw a tear," confirmed Randy Jackson. "I finally saw a tear from Simon's eye."

Simon did seem a bit broken up but he was quickly back to Judge Dread, making this prediction about fan favorite Kevin Covais.

"He won't be winning this competition," Simon assured. "You heard it here first." But Kevin's not backing down. "You'll be seeing me, I think so," Kevin promised his loyal "Idol" fans.

And while last season's runner up Bo Bice returned to the "American Idol" stage last night, he also had words for Simon who once predicted winner Carrie Underwood would outsell him.

"I want to tell you something, Mr. Busta nuggets. She's leaving me in the dirt, Simon," Bo confessed, whose own debut album has almost gone platinum!

So, who are Simon's pick this time around? "It'll be between Kellie, Taylor and Chris," Simon predicted.

The top 12 face off on "American Idol" next week on FOX!

Of those three, I would have to pick Chris. He is genuine, and seems to work very hard at his music.

Kellie is a phony Dolly Parton-wannabe (or Loretta Lynn--how many times did Kellie watch Coalminers Daughter to perfect that hick routine?).

Taylor strikes me as being a savant. Tremendously talented mucically, but without the smarts and the toughness to make it as an American Idol.

I would ammend it to Mandisa, Chris and Taylor.
