Wheee! Friday. Mr. August sez: Time to be silly.
Once upon a time,
When I lived with two former college roomates,
We made our male roomie, who lived in the attic,
take us to an adult movie as our Christmas present.
We'd never been to one and we were curious.
He didn't want to do it, but he finally obliged.
Well, from the moment we walked in the theater,
we couldn't shut up! The floors were so sticky
they nearly pulled your shoes off! The seats
were almost as bad.
No one was sitting together except for us...
I mean, there was like 10 seats between each person.
The theater was dark, old, and just creepy.
And so on...
Then the 'movie' started and we became
Heckel and Jeckel
We laughed at the bad music,
We roared at the cheesy motel rooms.
We giggled at the stupid, stupid 'dialogue',
We gasped at how just plain ugly the guys were,
We kept saying "you mean people think this is a turn on!?!?"
"they can't be serious! This isn't sexy! It's biology 101 without the fun lecture."
At that point,
Our male roomie got up and walked out into the lobby to
wait on us.
When walked into the lobby, he quickly exited to the car and pretended he didn't know us. He kept muttering "you girls better not ask ONE more thing of me, ever!" (OK, so as soon as we got home, we asked him to help bring in firewood)....
Ya know, I've yet to see an adult movie (made for/by men) that didn't make me remember that first time in that theater.
So I usually giggle all the way through.

I've always wondered why they show close-ups of the guy's face. C'mon, it's mostly dudes that watch the stuff, why would they want to see another dudes face? There are other videos for fellas that want to watch fellas, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Honestly,
I don't 'get' what it's about. They're usually funny, disturbing or boring.
But seldom 'sexy'.
Women have a way different set of buttons that need pushing and often those movies just turn over the giggle box.
Two of my daughters were serious skaters in Manhattan back in the '90s. If there are any competitive male skaters that play on our team, they must be rare as a sunny day in Seattle.
I'm going to date myself now. The film I was talking about was on 8mm.
