Friday the 13th
01/13/2005

Posted on 01/13/2006 2:55:01 AM PST by Glenn

Is superstition alive and well in these enlightened times?

I'm taking a vacation day -- just in case.

We had a very superstitious friend who used to just about rub me bald on every "inauspicious" date or occasion.

I came to dread every Friday the 13th a ~lot~ more than he did.....:D

LOL!

My day's been lucky so far.
[knock on wood]
I went to Staples to get an Antec laptop cooler and they'd not taken down the shelf sticker from a sale 2 weeks past.
They had to sell it to me for $10 less than the usual price.

[wish I'd had time to hit more stores...who knows what lucky bargains I may have found!]

He didn't like it either when I "accidentally" caught his tail in the vacuum, as I was vacuuming under the bed!

Definitely not my black cat's lucky day!

I once saw a black cat walking in a ditch on a Friday the 13th.

We both survived the sighting... and no vacuuming.

My favorite cat has always been "Catwoman" aka Julie Newmar.

I packed myself a peanut butter sandwich for lunch and put it in my bag. As I got ready for lunch I noticed it was no longer in my bag. I backtracked my route to the parking lot and found the sandwich was not in or around the car.

On my way back into the building I noticed my sandwich, that was sealed, was lying in the parking lot. A car had parked right in front of it, with the tires only a few inches from the sandwich.

Good luck I think....

I dropped the sandwich this morning.

It was sealed, and the temps are in the 20's, so its not a factor as far as it being spoiled.

Goodness no, my dear... I wouldn't eat a sandwich that was a mystery to me. {Well... at least not at this point!}

Happy Friday the 13th!

LOL...

"Being a redhead means never having to say you're sorry...)"

Being a redhead means never having to endure a list of "redhead jokes" because people are too afraid to tell them....>:-]

[wise people *never* play with fire]....LOL!

Friday the 13th, and a full moon to boot.

Ooooh, should I be afraid? I know, today is the day of phobias.

Maybe we could post a thread called... What are you afraid of? LOL.

How about calling it, Paraskavedekatriaphobia, which means, fear of Friday the 13th.

Ok... how did I get that much space between sentences?

I've never done that before. Weird.

ROTFLOL! See what happens for saying, “I've actually always had good luck on Friday the 13th!”

Rub a redhead for luck!

Does rubbing a redhead pin count?

It was almost HIS unlucky day as I shoved him off the bed...

Well, almost isn't too bad.

I just got a call from my Mom.

She's been at one of the local Indian Casinos since about 11am, and she's on her way out.

About $3,500.00 richer.

She wasn't in the place 10 minutes, sat down on a machine, and got a 4 of a kind "w/ a kicker" and it paid $1,000.

She kept playing, and hit again, and again...and again.

As a lovely parting gift, the casino was running a special where you run your card through the guest services, and you are given a duffle bag full of goodies.

There was a $100 bill in her bag.

On that note, she said "that's enough! I'm outta here!"

Well... We made it through another one of those dreaded days.

Karen...$3,500.00 on the 13th? Does your mom's luck extend to the children? Oh my! Time for her to take her daughter out to Ruth's Chris.

Victoria, love the red headed pin suggestion.

Salamander... messing with "red-heads" is not wise. My wife is one, and I know better. (You of course know as well.)

The moon sure was beautiful last night.

Another day forward.
