A 19-year-old broke his leg in two places while kicking at a spider in the NSW Southern Highlands
NRMA CareFlight said the teenager was flown to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition from a property 25km west of Mittagong after the incident involving a large huntsman spider before 1pm (AEDT) today.
The force of the man's kick at the spider broke his right leg in two places and also killed the spider.
The huntsman is listed by the Australian Museum as being a relatively harmless species, although the Badge Huntsman can cause pain, headache, vomiting and an irregular pulse.
Ouch!

That's what he gets for killing one of God's little creatures. (Just joking.)
Perhaps he should get together with the man who threw a mouse on to a burning pile of leaves and the mouse on fire, ran back into his house, started a fire and burned his house down.
"It's not nice to fool with mother nature".
"Stupid spider."
Look he's crawling up my wall
Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Now he's dropped onto the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Where's he gone now, I can't see
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Creepy, crawly, creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
There he is wrapped in a ball
Doesn't seem to move at all
Perhaps he's dead, I'll just make sure
Pick this book up off the floor
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Creepy, crawly, creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
He's come to a sticky end (creepy, crawly)
Don't think he will ever mend (creepy, crawly)
Never more will he crawl 'round (creepy, crawly)
He's embedded in the ground (creepy, crawly)
Boris the spider

"They forgot to mention the huntsman can also cause broken legs..."
(((Hardy laugh)))
Actually, after reading about the Huntsman spider, and looking at some photo's of the hedious creature, I probably would have broke a leg trying to run from the bloody thing.
Just goes to show shrimp are more dangerous than spiders :)

----I usually go after them with a can of Raid in one hand and a gun in the other. The Raid is for him and the gun is for me in case he gets away and I know he is loose inside my house somewhere, stalking, and leering at me with those beady eyes......LMAO
You sound like my wife!
---We women KNOW how to handle them bugs and not break bones doing it. LOL
Habits, Mating and Reproduction
In the genus Isopoda, the male and female Huntsman spiders have a lengthy courtship, which involves mutual caresses, with the male drumming his palps on the trunk of a tree. He then inserts his palps into the female to fertilise her eggs. The male is rarely attacked, unlike some other species, and in fact many huntsman spiders live peacefully together in large colonies. A silken retreat is often built for egg laying, as well as for moulting. Some species of Neosparassus build a silken retreat in foliage, often at ground level, by binding several leaves together with silk, while others construct shallow burrows or move into abandoned cicada burrows.
