Perhaps the first thing that leaps out is that it's a very Beatle-centric list. "Sgt. Pepper" is No. 1 as it often is in such lists, but two of the top three albums are by the Beatles, three of the first five and four of the first 10.
The first 10 are:
1) "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles 2) "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys 3) "Revolver" by the Beatles 4) "Highway 61 Revisited" by Bob Dylan 5) "Rubber Soul" by the Beatles 6) "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye 7) "Exile on Main Street" by the Rolling Stones 8) "London Calling" by the Clash 9) "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob Dylan 10) "The Beatles" (The White Album) by the Beatles

so well said....I forgot about Sticky Fingers.
On the one hand, yes yer right. But on the other hand, some of those "filler" songs on WA add a certain charm and versatility to the album which always makes it a pleasurable listen. Paul's "Honey Pie", George's "Long Long Long", John's "Julia", and Ringo's "Don't Pass Me By" may have never made the cut had it been pared down to a single LP ... all are great songs in their own unique way.
I dislike these lists, if for no other reason than they're poulated by the Beatles, almost exclusively. I'd rather see a '10 Worst Albums you actually paid money for'.
I'd have 'Britney Fox' at the top of my list. Found it in a dresser drawer not too long ago. What was I thinking?
They zapped the link to the picture, I get lazy sometimes and just hot link. I remember seeing the name Pink Floyd spray painted on a wall before I new who they were and promptly bought "Dark Side of the Moon" and I still have it.

I'm going up the country, babe don't you wanna go
I'm going up the country, babe don't you wanna go
I'm going to some place where I've never been before
I'm going, I'm going where the water tastes like wine
Well I'm going where the water tastes like wine
We can jump in the water, stay drunk all the time
Point well made.
Hey, I give them credit for getting any Zep on the soundtrack in the 80s. They were previously known for being very stingy with letting their music be used. I believe they wanted a ridiculous sum for Richard Linklater to put Rock & Roll in Dazed and Confused even though he begged them to let him use it. For School of Rock, Linklater had Jack Black and a crowd of extras beg them for Immigrant Song and it worked. Its on the DVD and kind of funny.
Lemmy starred in some indie flick when I was in college. He really had screen presence. "The only thing cooler than guys that get a lot of chicks, are guys that scare a lot of chicks."
Canned Heat. :-)
Yeah, Fast Times was a great flick. "Tangerine" was in what movie...Almost Famous?
They played New Years' Eve... in Orlando, I think.
Was "The Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore East" in there anywhere??????????????????
"In The Mood" vs. "When I'm 64" ??? You may be on to something there :)
Ditto's.
Me bad ........
