The Giants defense is wearing out. Their offense has barely kept the ball long enough for Manning to throw an interception.

I'm going to read War and Peace again. I'll get through more pages in 15 minutes than the Giants have yards.

I think we will see Chris Weinke before we see Tim Hasselbeck. Ten more points and Fox will pull Jake.

Giants missing tackles too much?Your crystal ball is quite accurate, today.
BLECH.
The Panthers are practically toying with the Giants' defense now.

You are correct...the D is pitiful. The whole team is NOT playing well at all. I really thought this was going to be close.

Wow! I don't remember the Giants sucking this much at any point in the season. Is Carolina actually a decent team?

Sooo....
Are both home teams going to lose today?
Or is Pittsburgh gonna be bounced out?
To: Poser
Carolina is a solid team when they want to be, but that's not every week. They came to play this week, and the Giants still haven't shown up.
I give some credit to the NY defense, though, they are playing 80% of this game and not getting much chance to rest.

Maybe four. I bet Baltimore would probably beat any of these NFC playoff teams right now.

apparently....
I saw on this thread someone saying that Eli Manning is over-rated.
He isn't the only one on the Giants.
It looks like I am watching the Bungles with their crappy tackling.
To: Poser
The Giants have been DOMINATED and OUTCLASSED by this Carolina Panther team. The Giants do not even belong in this playoffs. They are absolutely AWFUL. And what of this Eli Manning? All this hype about another Manning! Good Grief. The last thing this league needs is another Manning.

I don't see how your comments really translate here.
Eli hasn't helped, but the defense sucks just as much if not more.....
To: thoughtomator
I give some credit to the NY defense, though, they are playing 80% of this game and not getting much chance to rest. That's what happens when you're giving up beaucoup 3rd downs.
To: ShorelineMike
Don't forget the Giants only played THREE playoff teams this year. Not really a test. This squad is in need of a major overhaul. I'm not sold on Eli at all, I didn't like him being inserted last year over Warner. If you recall they were still in the hunt at that time. Eli is like a scared little kid when he gets pressure. If they didn't have Tiki this team would have won maybe 3 games.
To: Poser
Well, Rush picked the Giants as he did the Bucs on Friday. He got one right yesterday, maybe one today, but I'm pulling for the Bengals.

Eli Manning is not an NFL quarterback -- at least not yet. He has no business starting in this league, but he's a "starter" because the NFL salary cap rules basically force teams to stick their young players in the lineup long before they are ready to play. These players really get exposed like this at positions where experience is a necessity -- like QB, for example.
Welcome to parity mediocrity, folks.

That whole line of thought has never made any sense to me. Yes, the defense is probably tired from being on the field a lot, but wouldn't that also apply to the Carolina offense?
I think this is something made up by sportscasters without actually giving it any thought.

Not to be greedy, but the zebra could have called pass interference there.
That camera angle they're using for FGs still amuses me. Kasay's 45 yarder looked like 75 on the screen.
To: MikeinIraq
Well it's just that we have had all this hype about Manning, Manning, Manning. Archie, Peyton, Eli...all we hear about are different variations of Mannings. Hype, hype, hype. All first picks in the first round. Meanwhile, Tom Brady - picked in the sixth round - has three Super Bowls to his credit.
I guess I just love underdogs. I guess I don't go for football stars that are ANNOINTED and do not earn their acclaim.
