Thank you Goodgirl...Unfortunately, I know you understand from experience.

This was our 4th Christmas without him. We watched (for the first time) a video that Walt did of himself reading out of the Bible the Christmas story to Eric on Eric's first Christmas when he was 5 days old. It also had Walt telling Eric how much he loved him, he kissed him and told him he was precious to us. This video is invaluable to me now. What a gift he left us and he did not realize he would be dead just a few days later.

I'm trying to find a video clip of Will Forte impersonating Zell Miller on Saturday Night Live. We were watching Comedy Central last night, and we were cracking up.

I told my Dad that as funny as that was, the first one he did was hilarious.

How precious a video for his son!

He will grow up fine when he sees how much Dad cared for him.

What took him?

I did find this:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3163762784503624057&q=SNL

The Zell Miller impersonation is hilarious. He gets all purple in the face and you can see the vein about ready to burst in his forehead as he screams at whoever is interviewing him.

Hey y'all, think about this.

The year is 1906.
One hundred years ago.
What a difference a century makes!

Here are some of the U.S. statistics for the Year 1906:

The average life expectancy in the U.S. was 47 years.

Only 14 percent of the homes in the U.S. had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

A three-minute call from Denver to New York City cost eleven dollars.

There were only 8,000 cars in the U.S., and only 144 miles of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee were each more heavily populated than California.

With a mere 1.4 million people, California was only the 21st most populous state in the Union.

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower.

The average wage in the U.S. was 22 cents per hour.

The average U.S. worker made between $200 and $400 per year.

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2,000 per year, a dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical

engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births in the U.S. took place at home.

Ninety percent of all U.S. doctors had no college education.

Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press and by the government as "substandard."

Sugar cost four cents a pound.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.

Five leading causes of death in the U.S. were:

????????? 1. Pneumonia and influenza

????????? 2. Tuberculosis
????? 3. Diarrhea

?????????? 4. Heart disease

?????????? 5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.

Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska hadn't been admitted to the Union yet.

The population of Las Vegas, Nevada, was only 30!

Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and ice tea hadn't been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 U.S. adults couldn't read or write.

Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores.
Back then pharmacist said, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health." (Shocking!)

Eighteen percent of households in the U.S. had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders in the entire U.S.

SO, to think I forwarded this from someone else without typing it myself, and sent it to you in a matter of seconds!

Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.

It's Staggering....

This could be why

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores.

LOL

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2005 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends
and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before
getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :> )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list. AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.

What a difference a mere 100 years makes!

I shudder to think what will happen in the next 100 years for your kids and mine! Let's hope it's mostly good.

I just found him dead when he took the colicky baby downstairs to pray with him. A few hours later I heard Eric crying and found them both on the floor. The autopsy took 8 months, but discovered he had a heart defect in the coronary artery, it was too small and his heart just misfired and gave out.

So it was unexpected and has been tough, since we tried for 10 years with infertility, and finally had our miracle baby, and he died so unexpectedly 17 days later. But, God gave me the gift of our boy to get me through. I actually am doing much better, but still am sad that he is no longer part of our life.

Eric sure brings life back into this home though, he just turned 4, how can he not!! :-)

You may have overloaded it...it's your mind's way of saying, "Hey, ease up!"
