Congrats to all new members who joined this week!
We've made excellent progress so far and have smoked the DUmmies and Kossacks. Let's keep folding!
"Fluffy Bunnies". Warm and fuzzy.
"Klingon Empire". Geeky and warlike at the same time.
"Free Conservatives". Well, I guess that'd do in a pinch :)
Reagan theme would be perfect! Yeah, Texas Booster should really have the say. He's the one who has the power to change the name after all.

There are 11 people that have over 50 WUs. They have the most CPU time invested, I would expect them to take the leadership roll. Unless they choose a very dumb name, I will stay on the their team.

I don't think I was trashing anyone. But it did seem to me to be a "snap judgement", with no research, or consideration. A simple google search, would produce numberous documents, supportive of the program, free of any political stigma, and nary a one, would come close to calling it a "scam", as it was referenced. Am I a bit bitter, yes, because I felt that I was in a place, where people rationalized things, instead of making knee jerk reactions. If that's trashing someone, I apologize, but that's the way I feel.
I won't address this directly to Mr. Robinson, but my opinion is, you might have served your board better, instead of making irrational statements about a very distinguished scientific project, you would have just let the individuals know, that you would take it "under advisement".
To those on Team #36120... Klutz will keep on folding, wherever y'all go, or re-name it. I'm bitterly disappointed, but hey, life goes on, and then, there's always beer :)
For the record, my boxes and future foldings are off the team if there's any more rudeness toward FreeRepublic.com, its founder, or its mods.

I am a donor, have been since WAY before I signed up, and still am. So is my family. Not to say that means I have any rights or deserve any special attention ( I don't ), but that I, and you other donors, are not accepting hospitality and trashing the good name of, or folks at, FR.

Well, my friend, what's done is done. And as holder of the most points, I hope that you help us pick out a name.
Petronski's idea of RR seems to have traction, it makes sense and MOST of us would agree he would be an inspiration for the team. Not to mention many of us probably have friends or relatives that have/had Alzheimers.
But there is just something tweeking about "Reactionary Nigerian Widows" :-)
Man, just wait till the DUmmies get a hold of this.

I say we let the founders of this group, decide if they want to do a name change, and/or forum change. I'm with the team, whichever direction it wants to go.
For those who think that I, and others are disparaging Free Republic, we're NOT. But we all react differently to a swift kick in the nuts, and if I'm just a little testy right about now, well, I have every right to be.
Systematic, Ken, Texas... let us know what you think, and I'm behind y'all 100%.
