I have used Zalman before on a box I built for a friend. I think it weighed 27 pounds !! ;) I've got some pics of it somewhere here, I'll see if I can dig them out.

"We have jobs, therefore more money and better computers"

Probably we're also older on average and with higher SATs [like Bush vs. Kerry, only with a greater margin].

Yeah, I noticed their comments. But, can you find a wu put up by NY-Liberal? SHIM seems to be one of the gang leaders...calling us names like that!, yet I seen none. Perhaps folding under an alias...because shim is folding for team 36120? LOL

:O)

That's probably true. I supported Reagan and Bush through college in the 80s, and noticed the vitriol spewed against them in class but really it didn't register to me. I can't imagine a kid going through now with a 'toon bias to begin with.

I never took the SAT, but I did get a 38 on my ACT before they changed the scale in the early 90s. My guidance councellor cound't figure it out since I'd scored in the top 5% of my class but was only a low B/high C student, cept in math and science where I was an A++. heh.

They did dumb down [sorry, recurve] the SAT at some point also. I never took the ACT, but my kids all took both.

Just browsing the top links on the ACT, max score is 36, but for some reason I remember it as 40 and in 1985 when I took it, I got 38. I've got the paper stashed somewhere, I may have to go hunt it down. Maybe I got 36. I know I aced it, just don't remember exactly anymore. Too many beers in the years shortly following :).

Wouldn't it be interesting to know what score[s] the "World's Smartest Woman" got?

I'm sure we'll find out just after we get to read the Senior Thesis.

At least we appear to agree with DU on one topic

You know, I agree as well. I suppose I'd be happy if they could add in 100000 cpus and solve alzheimers.

Course, since they are all socialist losers on the dole, probably using surplus computes donated by conservatives, that's not going to happen. They won't float into the top 2000 for at least a year.

"probably using surplus computes donated by conservatives"

Watch out now, you're hittin' pretty close to the mark. In my case, since I live embedded in Ultra Blue [really Red if you know what I mean] territory and do get computers from the recycle center [they are donated, but one has to buy them for nominal amounts], but they are likely donated by limousine liberals. Post Christmas is a good time to go shopping there.

"fahstats is nice, but their calculations are wacky"

Check out the scale on the EOC team extra info page and see if the y-axis on the lower plot that claims to be "hourly" production is, in fact, the "three hourly" production. Lots of wackiness going around these days.

We turned "green" on fahstats just now. Still "blue" on eoc, but will go green there soon also.

So a moderator takes us out of technical.

I guess 250 freepers are douchebags.

250 freepers, and about 1200 replies on 3 threads since I've been folding.. and this isn't "technical"?

Some people have no sense of humor... *ahem* appreciation of what we're doing here.

Noted: Our team has scored more points today, than the DU team has scored in it's entire existance...

and that's not worth a "bump up" spot in the topics ratings?

Well, I've only been here almost 3 years, but if they got issues with us tech folks and tech threads, JR can tell me to get off and I won't log in again. Shrug.

Pretty insulting.

So why does the extremeoverclocking web site take 20 Min to update its files? You'd think if those people knew what they were doing, they'd get the job done in under a second.

Not really sure what your point is or why you addressed it to me... Do you have a complaint about extremeoverclocking?

Well, it was a pretty dead day news-wise but active folding-wise. One of the mods might have been in a bad mood and thought we were cluttering up news. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

2 consoles and one window. The Xeons are hyperthreaded to make 4 logical processors. I still have 25% idle time. It may be somewhat impacted, but not enough to discount another process.

OK... just curious. However, I'll mention that the FAQ advises that running the GUI version with others might cause some instability; there's also a bit about trying to treat HT processors as duals. From what I've seen, they recommend that you don't try to keep each HT busy, just use a process for each physical (or true) CPU you have. If I can dig up the URLs I'll post them.

So I guess we can't count on 500,000 freepers all joining the team after all... :( But I'll settle for 499,990, minus the few reluctant grouches who jealously guard their domain. :)

btw... Did ya notice how quickly the "spelling police" got after me this morning, for missing an "L"... *sheesh*
