Do you know any better places to suggest?I still like CDW and TigerDirect. Sometimes, on common components, like drives and monitors, you can get outstanding bargains.
I don't buy too many boards/processors, because most of my dealings are in complete systems, but if they have something I like, I can con them into giving me a single unit purchase, at the same cost we just purchased 100+

296 CPUs now - we may reach 300 within a couple of hours.

I started up an additional unit today, but it won't show up 'til Thursday. It had a WU that was at about 5%, so that'l be a big boost. ;-)

FAH update shows 297 + the one I have going = 298. I know I read about at least 2 additional units put online today, so we are already at 300.

To second his remarks...
I get all my equipment from Mwave and Newegg. I spend somewhere between 5 and 10 grand a month on equipment(business use). Both are fast and vacillate on pricing per item.
As for CPU cooling, I've installed the Zalman 7700 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118115 on my latest two Athlon 64+ 4000s and it's been the best air cooler I've ever used, hands down. It's a giant copper brick. Rated very well on Tom's hardware and pretty much everywhere.
You can see it in the case here: http://www.geocities.com/malbor2/fr/racecar.jpg

We should pick up about 15 - 25 places between now and midnight. We'll be under 800 by noon tommorrow, especially if all those who joined yesterday, have their machine's contributions kick in.
It'll be nice to get the "bonus" of individual user stats at overclocking.
fahstats is nice, but their calculations are wacky, and that dual translation between upload time, and GMT, drives me up a wall..

I started up an additional unit today, I have a least 3 old boxes laying around. Windoze '98 if I remember. And parts for 2-3 more. Yes they could help but it would take 2-3 hours configuration on each box. (I'm slow) The reality is I'm working 60 hour weeks and now that the holidays are over, I'm back to the salt mine with no chance to fire the 'puters up.

I have to start work tomorrow, but will try to clear space on the desk in the computer "lab" to get another "desktop" [bare m/b on wood scraps with a video card and network card run by a spare power supply] running to get us to below 800. Box? We don't need no stinkin' box.

At least we appear to agree with DU on one topic [though it DOESN'T appear like we can ever all just get along].

Exactly. Determining how proteins fold can have many, many benefits. Right. Freepers are better at it. Reasons? We have jobs, therefore more money and better computers. Conservatives will always have more progress than Bolsheviks, except if you measure povery, misery and standard of living.

I've been stuck on Newegg for a couple years. Do you know any better places to suggest? I'm an AMD kind of guy.
I like
Zipzoomfly. They have no sales tax in Tennessee and free 2nd day shipping on everything. Newegg charges tax in Tennessee. I've spent a lot of money with Zipzoomfly and never had a problem.
