I thought it was kind of suspicious that Reid pulled the starting QB during the final two Philly drives. But since the sports media hates Dallas, the league isn't going to raise a stink. I joked last night that Norv Turner might pull Collins if the Raiders had a chance to win to spite Dan Snyder.

Well, it's pathetic that a team like Dallas would have to have help to get into the playoffs.

Detmer hasn't played all season, so I guess Reid wanted to get him some playing time.

The Eagles aren't going anywhere anyway.

I agree, but the timing was so convenient.

Sorry Cowboys' fans. Better luck next year.

Not greatly surprised, We truely didn't deserve it just yet (we will one day!) Now I'm pulling for Seattle to meet Indy in the SB!

Opening line:

207 Pittsburgh -½
208 Cincinnati 44

Well, that makes no sense. I assume the 44 is the over/under, but what's up with the Steelers being favored by a half point? Since ties are impossible in playoff games, a team being favored by a half point is precisely the same as a pick 'em.

To get whipped as they did two weeks ago against Washington indicates that Parcells has no idea how his team is going to play from week to week.

I went to this game and sat next to an old Dallas fan (who came with his friend that had the tickets, an old Redskins fan, seated on the Cowboys fan's other side).

anyhow, we all talked about the game 4th quarter. essentially, the conversation from the two of us was we were glad the Redskins won, but we wished Dallas had played, so we could all see a game between the two teams.

after what happened earlier this season, I figured Dallas would be ready for revenge and the Redskins would choke, like we normally do when it comes to the Cowboys ;^)

the Cowboys fan was understandably upset and said they just didn't bother to show up.

for me, I am glad we won and we swept the Cowboys this season, but I was hoping for a game and I was disappointed in the Cowboys' performance. A shutout/near shutout may feel nice, but it isn't too much fun to watch, especially when you're expecting (and hoping) for something else.

I wanted to see a game.

Not really. If we have to face the Redskins, it won't be until the Championship game at least.

Vikings fire Tice after victory over Bears
By The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings fired coach Mike Tice after Sunday’s victory over Chicago.

The team announced that owner Zygi Wilf would not renew Tice’s contract less than an hour after the Vikings’ 34-10 win over the Bears in the regular season finale. Tice, who finished his fourth full season with a 32-32 record, had already addressed the media before the move was made public.

His tenure was mostly marked by streaks and scandals, with a $100,000 fine levied last summer against him by the league for scalping his Super Bowl tickets and a wild boat party during the team’s bye week this season that produced misdemeanor charges for four players.

After starting 2-5, the Vikings won six straight before losing two in a row to fall out of contention for the playoffs.

Now that Tice is out first look for the rest of the dominos to fall:

Definites: Capers(HOU), Turner(OAK),
Martz and Vitt(STL), Haslett(NO), Mularkey(BUF).

Possibles:Sherman(GB), Edwards(JETS),
Fisher(TEN). A possible shocker- If Seattle goes out in the divisional playoffs, Holmgren's gone.

Parcells may step away from Dallas to take the job in Detroit. Rumors of his retirement have been greatly exaggerated.

Head east then; midnight shows up earlier :-)

The further west you are, the earlier you can ring in the new year with NY.

I'm hoping for a Philly win so Dallas can have something to play for tonight.

It's pathetic when you're a Cowboy fan like me, having to cheer for the Iggles. The Iggles deserved to lose, they threw that whole game away.

The Cowboys should just chuck it all away too, start over next year. Thye're playing this game for naught.
