Former Ohio State tailback Maurice Clarett is wanted on two counts of aggravated robbery following an incident that took place early Sunday, police said.
According to a report issued by the Columbus Division of Police, Maurice E. Clarett approached two people who were standing in an alley at the rear of the Opium Lounge, located at 346 South High St.
Police allege that Clarett, 22, demanded property from a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman "with a handgun in his presence then got into a white SUV with two other unknown suspects and sped away."
Neither victim was hurt, police said.

It is a sad story. What a change from just three years ago, when the Buckeyes won the national title at the Fiesta Bowl, with Clarett playing a key role in the victory.
What a loser. If he would have just abided by the rules and stayed in college a measley extra year he could have turned pro. He wanted everything now now now. What a punk.
Read somewhere else that the "property" he demanded was a cell phone.
Got that right. This is an apt description of many College Athletes who are essentially recruited to satisfy the ever growing demands of Collegiate Athletics over Collegiate Scholarship. Most never graduate and are just an injury or a misstep away from the streets, having only one thing they can do well and no education to show for their college experience.
I've been following that man's story since the false police report and I have to say I feel genuine pity for him. Apparently another case of a famous person having no one in his life who could shake him by the shoulders and say "Maurice this ain't right."
Same as Michael Jackson or Whitney Huston: no REAL friends who could tell them to STOP!

No, he played for Warren Harding High in Warren, OH.
He was a loser then, too. The time I saw him play, he ran out of the locker room not with the team, ran in place while the rest of the team piled up before the game, and then handed his jacket to a coach. During the game, word is that he got mad when he was tackled and said, "Don't you know who I am?"

I believe the statute calls it armed robbery whether the perp brandishes the weapon or not.
I was referring to the words "with a handgun in his presence".
Who was the mental giant that wrote that line?
"In his presence". Would that mean say, within 10 feet? Twenty feet?
If one was to rob someone next to a gun shop, would he/she be charged with multiple gun violations?
Seems obvious that the "reporter" was preoccupied in college and bought all his term papers.
It is a real shame the way universities use these young men. For the most part they are not real students, just semi-pros puting in their time in what has become a minor league for the NFL.
A small percentage end up making some money in the big league for three or four years, the rest end up without a degree and nowhere to go.
Ever see the liberal MSM look into this? Not very often or with any depth.

Stow it. Ohio State was the best thing that ever happened to to this bum. All he had to do was play one more year of football, get his Heisman, be a first round draft choice for the NFL, sign for maybe twenty million dollars, and enjoy the next fifty years of luxury and fame.
Instead, he decided he was a bigger shot than the NFL was. Some suckahs just have to learn the hard way.
Don't waste your tears on this creep, he is doing what he chose and getting what he deserved.
