The pealed the bells, both loud and deep,
"God is not dead nor doth he sleep!
The wrong shall fail, the right revail,
With Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men."

It's done.

Sis -i-L is washing dishes...boy pixie is sleeping (he had a touch of the bug going around), girl pixie is playing and all the older or grown ones are napping...

all was a success....

I am just waiting for cookies and coffee.

Chairman can now eat his heart out (HA!) ... I got a weather station for Christmas!

..... It measures just about everything you can think of ... outdoor temp, relative humidity, wind chill, wind direction and speed, barometric pressure, indoor temp and humidity.

..... And it sends it all to a display unit in the house as well as to a program loaded on the computer via the included CD.

It's really neat ... and I am in hog heaven over it ... :-)

I also got a new set of speakers for my computer ... my others have been shot for quite a while. Santa really splurged and got Bose speakers. WOW!!! They are impressive! We cranked up some of our Christmas music like the MoTabs and Mannheim Steamroller and the sound was incredible!

Poor hubby just got mundane things like shirts and jeans and slippers. Except for the special little urn for the office. It's a little pottery jar (about 6 inches high) with a large cork in it. It is labeled Ashes of Problem Employees. It will be displayed prominently at the office ... :-)

We've had a very quiet restful day here ... much welcomed. We have talked to kids, grandkids (the older two), MIL, a sis-i-law, and a nephew. And have worked on getting the weather station set up.

It's currently 46 degrees here with a relative humidity of 81% and a dewpoint of 40.5 ... :-)

Greetings, Kayak. My kids received a great lesson today on how to be a bad guest. Ha! I was ready for her and knew she was just "that way" so it didn't really bother me. I did skip the linzertorte so she wouldn't be the only one without a dessert. I'll get my piece later.

When we have our feasts, I cook enough so there will be plenty of leftovers for grazing. We won't be cooking until Tuesday or maybe even Wednesday.

Enjoy your dinner, Toby. My youngest and JT said they wanted to leave my table for Camp David. The youngest wanted some of their Red Velvet Cake. JT wants Barbara and Jenna.

It's really way more sound than I need for the computer ... but they are just fantastic.

I would love that weather station, too. Does it predict as well as record?

It predicts only in a very general sense ... stormy weather ahead, clear, etc. ... not temps or anything specific. I think the term used is tendency and it's based on changes in readings such as barometric pressure.

Hubby always says he doesn't have much for me and then floors me with stuff like this.

That's sweet. It is fun getting loot. I hate to say it, but I love getting gifts as much and more than giving. Okay. I'm greedy.

Good evening! We have had a lovely, relaxing day. After doing the first round of the clean-up we have watched movies and nibbled on leftovers. Also, we are getting SNOW. It is a wet snow and is sticking to the tree branches and looks very pretty...probably about 2 inches.

Down side is no TV because of satellite interference. However, since hubby wants to watch movies, it's no big deal.

Tomorrow I am starting dieting again. It's an opportuine time as I have eaten so much I think most food is slightly repulsive. LOL!
