Yeah...with the last job I had, I didn't let myself even peek at FR during the day. I'm just too liable to get sucked in for long periods.
When I'm at home and doing other stuff on the computer, sure. But not at work.
To: scott7278
Heh...tends to make a mess of things and get in the way. And leave a trail behind you if it gets caught on something and starts unraveling. Such a nuisance!

I have to really be careful when it comes to my schooling. I wish I could say I'm not tempted, but I'd be lying.

There was a story of a boy who got in trouble and ran into the woods in the dark of night thinking the cops would never catch him.
The only trouble was, he had those sneakers with the red blinking lights on them.

Oops...
There's a really funny Dave Barry article where he talks about the perils of being a criminal who wears those pants where the seat falls about at a guy's knees. Wish I knew where to find it - it was a riot!

Well, it looks like most folks have headed off to bed, and it's about time I do the same. *yawn*
Good night everyone! And Merry Christmas!

Rosie, I never saw the BBC version so I have no basis of comparison. But the P & P just out is excellent IMHO.. I highly recommend it for folks esp who like a gentle movies without body parts flying, car races ,vulgarit and the minimal of special effects.

Oh, find the BBC version sometime! It's incredible. A lot of libraries have it, even if rental places don't!
A bit part of my bias is that I love the book and have read it over and over. Most movie versions either mangled the story until it's almost unrecognizeable, OR cut out some of the parts I consider essential. Plus often modernize the dialog. I liked that the BBC version used quotes almost directly from the book. And Colin Firth is and always will be Mr. Darcy for me. The other characters are equally well portrayed.
They just did a superb job, both on the screenplay and on the casting. I highly recommend it.

This is an early Christmas Eve ping. I don't know if anybody will be around tonight -- I probably won't be -- but I wanted to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I will look for it. I have never been a heavy reader of fiction(prolly the understatement of the year at FR).. so I don't look at movies critically like many do. I go to be entertained..despite the perhaps lack of gelling w/books they are based on or often lack of historical accuracy if it is so based. I enjoyed Memoirs of Geisha.. which was based on a book I will never read.
I did read In Cold Blood & am looking forward to the movie Capote.
Here for a bit. skipping church to stand watch & pray with FReeper Snugs as her mum in England is in critical condition. Not sure if Snugs has ever dropped in here.. she is a single British lass.

Thanks for the early ping Scott!
The boys and I are headed out the door for the airport and a flight to sunny Florida to see my folks for a week. It always seems to be a little easier to get through Christmas if I am at my folks place, and the boys have a ball there, so off we go!
I hope each and every one of you has a Blessed Christmas. Keep your eye on the true reason for the season.
