They wouldn't probably appreciate some of the comments on that thread, I take it? Funny...but brutal, some of 'em.
You're not so far from me. I hope you have a great Christmas with your family. I am expecting company tomorrow, so I've spent today shopping and cleaning. Tomorrow we open presents, eat and go to a Lutheran service. None of us have been to a Lutheran service before, it's a little scary! I've been assured everything is in the bulletin. It appears to be interactive.
I just imagine us Baptists totally messing everything up, genuflect? What's that? If we really mess it up, I can only hope the church recovers. I'm just looking forward to a wonderful spirit filled Christmas and I think it will be. We shall see!
That sounds like fun!
Yes, I've seen films of those wonderful experiences. haha, umm, I think the oven works just fine for me and it rarely catches on fire!
They probably would...they just didn't think that a pastor should be laughing about someone getting gored by a billy goat.
Lots of folks visit other churches this time of year - I wouldn't worry about it! ;-)
Is this a new area for you?
We go to the Methodist Christmas Eve service at 11:00pm nearly every year -- don't worry, you won't mess anything up. ;)
Yeah...my first winter here. Hopefully next year I can either go home for Christmas, or will have local friends to hang out with.
LOL! Well...I think no matter who you are or what you do, you have to see the humor in life or you'll go crazy, no? ;-)
Well, everything in moderation, I guess. I can be serious when I need to be, without being an actor.
Promise? You don't know my family :). Think Beverly Hillbillies going to a Catholic city church. We'll be clapping and stomping our feet. Ok, fine, we're not quite like that but it will be a different experience. Truly, I am looking forward to it.
You never miss your family until Christmas. I checked out your state home and it said Colorado. This is a new home for you and it sounds like perhaps recently? You will adjust. I moved away from here once, it was quite difficult. Which state is your home state?
Speaking of serious, can I stick in a prayer request here?
I moved here over six months ago, and I've been having trouble finding a permanent job - I work in computer support, and because a couple of computer companies laid folks off in the past few years, the competition is fierce. I worked in a contract position for awhile this fall (until early this month), but the project I was working on ended.
This past Wednesday I interviewed for a job that sounds wonderful, and I *think* it went really well, but I'm sure they had other great candidates. But I really want this job! They're making a decision the first week of January, and I'd really appreciate prayers that I get it - if it's God's will - or in any case find suitable employment soon!
LOL.......thnx. Same to you! I haven't finished the gift wrapping or even trimmed a tree.....but the excitement of Christmas continues to build in my heart! :)
Just don't get the police called -- LOL!
Ha! It's ruined! NOT. :)
I will certainly be praying for you.
I moved here from Vermont. I've lived away from home before, but that was in the Air Force, and therefore much different - you're never alone in the military, and of course you don't have to start over when you move - find a job and all. This is something I think I needed to do, and it really is a beautiful area. I have a few friends from church, so I'm not totally alone - going to hang out with some of them New Year's Eve! But Christmas tends to be more for family and very close friends, and I don't yet have anyone here I'm *that* close to.
