I hate green bean casserole.

You can make it a lot better than most folks fix it. Use real green beans fresh cooked in chicken broth with onions & sliced mushrooms. Thin the mushroom soup out with a little bit of cream and crumbled bacon never hurts either. My family asks for it even when it's not a holiday.
