Suggetion...instead of more sugar, toss in a can of crushed pineapple, including all the juice..YUM..

The dish was invented by Cambell's Soup..to promote sales of their Ceam of Mushroom soup..

Green bean casserole? Good stuff. Only time I get it is at other people's houses. That and dinner rolls. And macaroni salad. And mashed potatoes. And ham. And...

You can make it a lot better than most folks fix it. Use real green beans fresh cooked in chicken broth with onions & sliced mushrooms. Thin the mushroom soup out with a little bit of cream and crumbled bacon never hurts either. My family asks for it even when it's not a holiday.
