We have a house full of cats

Boy you sound like just the right person to give me a little advice. I have 3 male (fixed) cats that have found me over the last 4 years----and my problem is they all hate each other. I long for kitty kisses and cuddles, but boy not in this house. I would love for them to get along, but for some reason they hardly tolerate each other. Only saving grace is they're indoor/outdoor and rarely in the house at the same time. Anyway, I sure envy those of you who have housefuls of cats.

Um...The cat is the evil mastermind behind the whole plot, but he's too smart to get caught? ;-P<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

That's ok, my two youngest cats apparently ordered an artificial christmas tree online a few weeks ago, a duplicate to one I ordered. Now I'm stuck trying to return the miserable thing and get my money back.

Okay, that's it. I'm crazy about Sam. What an outstanding boy! Love that he flops. We've had floppers in our time. Have one now. Rhys' neck bows out, he hesitates a second or two, and then down he goes. He's a total riot and he knows it. What a ham!

Not to detract from the seriousness of Sam's situation but I must tell you, I'm not "getting" that he's ready to boogie on out of here. Don't worry, I'm not a 1-900 psychic or anything. My plain old-fashioned kitty cat intuition is that he'll be able to handle whatever this is. I certainly hope so.

We currently have three Siamese. Blue point, seal point, and a lilac. All altered males and they are loaded with personality. Elliott's our big talking boy, but the others are fully capable of chiming in whenever they have something important to "say." People either love the breed or they don't. Guess I don't have to mention which camp we're in.

Please be sure to keep us posted on Sam. Don't know if he'll be up for this, or if you will for that matter, but I'm a big believer in whispering little prayers to our boys every morning. They're used to it now and really seem to like it. Minute I start doing it they all begin to purr. It's pretty sweet and it certainly doesn't hurt anything. "We'll" include a special prayer for Sam tomorrow morning. Don't know that they'll understand that but I will.

All the best to both of you!

You've done a really great job with him then, if he's that calm and trusting.

Our half-Siamese gets mouthier the longer she's been with us...the first few weeks it was just occasional meows when you'd expect from a cat, but now that she's had a little longer to settle in, she'll cry like a kitten til you pet her enough...and she's the one who decides when is enough! Very demanding, but so cute she never has a problem getting attention.

You're not getting anything for Christmas, so it doesn't matter.

Thanks so much. I don't think Sam is ready to go, either, but the process is so worrisome. He is one of a kind, that's for sure. And so beautiful.

I love Siamese, too. My Dad is a cat worshipper, and he has had quite a few over the years. Has one right now, who is a Lavender point and a wonderful kitty. Not aloof at all, and will even wrestle with the little kids.

Sam went deaf a couple of years ago, but I still talk to him. I talk right into his skull, and I think he can "hear" me. It seems to make him happy.

But then again, he's happy all the time. Even when he's telling our 100 lb. Lab what to do. Sam definitely rules the roost.

Every Siamese I have ever met has been very demanding, and verrrrry talkative. My parents had a couple when I was a baby that were bigger than I was, and would always lay with me. They were so protective of me.

Sam is inherently a calm soul. I will miss him dearly when he does go. He is one of a kind. And such a HUGE purr! All the time, every day. And if he really gets it going, he squeaks.

He is truly the perfect cat. He is sitting right here purring as I type. I'll do anything to save him. Thank goodness I married a man who feels the same way as I do.

That's how I feel about my tribe - although I'd never claim they were perfect! :) They may drive their daddy nuts at times but I love them dearly.

Don't get me wrong. They are not all perfect! I love every kitty on the planet, but so far Sam is the only perfect one I have met. Beautiful, loving, big, smart, care taker to other animals, loves all people, even strangers, fabulous purr, never jumpy, never skittish, rides in the car as long as you kiss him every mile, he's a flopper, always has to have his chin resting on you, great sleepy, half lidded eyes, snow feet, super playful, and o n and on.

I have loved many a kitty in my day. As a matter of fact, I lost my soul mate kitty three years ago. But Sam, he is the kind of kitty that makes other kitty lovers jealous of me. Everyone loves him. That is why I call him Kitty Ambassador. He can turn the most vile kitty hater into a pile of babbling goo.

If the world was fair, Sam would live forever.

Amen! I've been lucky enough to have a couple of cats like that over the years. They are a special treasure.

My kids may not be perfect (far from it!), but they are my surrogate children and I love them dearly. If only they would let their dad sleep past 5 AM once in a while! :)
