The Wizard Of Oz is on channel 11 (it started at 7:30pm), and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (with Chevy Chase) will be on at 9pm on NBC (channel 4)
Dorothy runs away from home, taking Toto with her. Runs into Frank Morgan as Professor Marvel.
:)
"Looks like we're having friiiiied pussy cat tonight."
~Cousin Eddie after the cat is chewing on the Christmas tree lights (played by Randy Quaid)
It was being shown on TNT a couple weekends back...
Love the scene of Dorothy's house flying by in the tornado
and she sees Hillary riding her bike past; then, Hillary
turns into a witch.
What...that WASN'T Hillary?
>>channel 11
That would be the WB network. In Boston it's on Channel 56
(Ch 12 on my cable, next to "Fox 25" on Ch 13 and
"UPN 38" on Ch 14)
Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my!
We meet The Cowardly Lion.
Thats horrible! How can you stand it? Is that by choice?
I once went without tv for a year and a half. I was entering my teens at the time. Our 15 year old 25 inch color tv (a wedding present from my grandparents to my parents) finally died out. We replaced it with a 12 inch black and white because thats all we could afford at the time. After a few months, younger brother broke that, so we got another 12 inch black and white set, and brother broke that one too!
So began the great wasteland of NO TV for a year and a half. We had a little portable black and white set with a 7 inch screen (about 20 years old), but it had only sound and no picture. Thats how I listened to the finale episode of MASH. With the little tv that had sound but no picture.
"Did the average, dumbass redneck predict that the North would win the war between the states? Didnt think so".
Some of things are a little far-fetched and someone had a lot of time on their hands. However, I must say that some of things on "TDSOTM" are synchronized pretty good with "The Wizard of Oz."
Coincidence or not? You decide.
Darn that Bush! Well, I still have Wizard of Oz on channel 11.
I'll remember that the next time we choose to take the heels of our boots off of your necks.
History is written by the winners. :-)
All that said, and done, this old Redneck would rather see Dr. Condi as POTUS, than see Rudy, the best Yank you can find! Lord have mercy, if Rudy is the best you have, Lord, have mercy!
The South gave us....Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill and Hillary Clinton. We eagerly await the South's next offering.
It was the North that gave us Ronald Reagan. So there.
All new Family Guy on Fox after the President (at least I assume they will "delay-air" it).
One channel, ABC Family I think, is showing that Jim Carrey Grinch movie...tried to watch but it was not my
thing. Went to Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) listing of it and looked at comments. Many gave rave reviews;
many felt it was horrible...From what I saw, give the the Chuck Jones version anytime.
I remember watching a black and white TV...years ago.
M.A.S.H. though?
Meh.
;)
>>It was the North that gave us Ronald Reagan
Well, the North (Dixon, IL) and the West (the California years).
I'm from Mass., the state that offered Mike Dukakis, Ted
Kennedy, and John Kerry in unsuccessful campaigns!
I'll be watching "Chistmas Vacation" with my freshly popped popcorn after listening to the President's speech.
>>after the speech by the President
Doesn't it give ya a warm feeling to know that the man
who COULD have been President is cuddling up with Ta-RAY-za in one of his 5 mansions tonight, and not addressing
the nation from the Oval Office? :)
(Think you got sick of Kerry during the campaign? What if he had won? He'd be on TV constantly--though yes, he's
trying to do that anyway. They didn't nickname him
"Liveshot" for nothing. Don't get between him and a
TV camera!!
It was the original airing of the final episode of the series. And I've been watching that in reruns for quite a while (before we went without tv). I just couldnt miss it.
Good, those NBC morons have stopped bloviating. Now starts Christmas Vacation! Yay!
"Clark, don't provoke them."
:_)
I'll say this much about the series, I liked Jamie Farr.
Clark brings the tree home. Clarks snooty neighbors.
