Welcome to the OFFICIAL Friday/Saturday Night Singles' Thread
"We're Gonna Have a Good Time Tonight...Let's Celebrate...It's All Right!"
In store for tonight (as proposed by apackof2):
To get our thread started, we're going to answer these questions:
1) "When and why did you join Free Republic?"
2) "What was going on at the time?" (Top movies, favorite song(s), price of gas, etc.)
3) "What happened on that day in history?"
Of possible further interest:

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots
conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse,
to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

Pretty well...I can't complain. I've learned that it doesn't change much anyway -- LOL!

I bet you might find pictures in the local library especially if the family that lived there was active or prominent in the community
It would be worth a little research

Possibly, although I`m not sure how to start. The county records system is a maze trying to sort out.
I don`t know if there is much historical stuff in the town library,I have never been in there except this year in the lobby because thats where they moved my voting place to.

Is "Spiderman" still on?
Nope, "The Mummy" (1999) is on now, another cool movie. I just love that Egyptologist lady, she is a hottie! B-)I admire her for her knowledge and intelligence too, I just can't stand women (or anyone) that is "dumb as a box of rocks."
Aside note, my buddy met a girl from the Maritimes in Canada online and brought her down here to love, boy she is "dumb as a box of rocks," long story there. Had to explain what and who "Anne of Green Gables" is and was and that book series and character is to Canada what Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn are to America. I love my buddy likea brother, been hanging with him since gradeschool, but I think in his mind, he is willing to take anyone.

I'm good. Cat disappeared again, but I think he'll probably be back this time.
Welcome aboard! Sorry to hear about your cat, I know if that happened to any one of mine, I'd be a wreck. Pansy is the only active one now, she was born in 1987 and she is sitting up like a proud statue.

If you're reading this tomorrow, since you're gone and all, here's the situation with my cat (Leo):
He's an outdoor cat. Sometimes he likes to prowl the neighborhood at night and come back in the morning. He's usually only gone for one night, but sometimes he'll be gone for a few days.
In a scary situation, he disappeared for 5 days. And during those five days, a brutal ice storm hit. I braved the icy frozen elements in a safari looking for him, but turned up nothing. We were starting to panic...that's the longest he's ever been gone...but this morning, he showed up at our porch looking like he hadn't even been gone.
A few hours later, though, we had to leave so we put him out. He was gone when we came back, but I'm pretty sure he'll be back sooner this time instead of scaring us to death (did he do it on purpose? I wonder...)

Leo. You'll notice he has an enormously fat head (you can't tell as much with this picture). He's a funny cat. His chubby cheeks have made him a legend in his own rite.
