Welcome to the OFFICIAL Friday/Saturday Night Singles' Thread
"We're Gonna Have a Good Time Tonight...Let's Celebrate...It's All Right!"
In store for tonight (as proposed by apackof2):
To get our thread started, we're going to answer these questions:
1) "When and why did you join Free Republic?"
2) "What was going on at the time?" (Top movies, favorite song(s), price of gas, etc.)
3) "What happened on that day in history?"
Of possible further interest:

FRmail me if you want on or off the F/S Singles' Thread Ping List. It will only be used for pinging to the official thread, and will never be used for any other purpose.

A special thanks to Paul_Denton for keeping the thread going in my absence.

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots
conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse,
to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

You should probably wait until after you've seen it to decide if you really wanna thank him...
To: RosieCotton
I think they pulled them off the street and said, "Ten minutes until performance."

Yea,there are a few plaster scars in the ceilings where walls have been moved and from what my father has said a staircase was taken out.
Also many pie plates covering holes that stove pipes used to run through.
Even when it was tighter than it is now it had to be a nightmare to heat, they must have had a stove in every other room.

Probably so,it would be neat to be able to go back 150 years and see what everything was like.Probably wouldn`t even know where I was as I think the land was almost clearcut. There are stonewall fences now in the middle of the woods so at one time they were fields.
There is an old cemetery in the woods down the road dating from the early to mid 1800s so that was all cleared at that time.

I hope that's the explanation. I also hope it was a volunteer thing.
