Welcome to the OFFICIAL Friday/Saturday Night Singles' Thread
"We're Gonna Have a Good Time Tonight...Let's Celebrate...It's All Right!"
In store for tonight (as proposed by apackof2):
To get our thread started, we're going to answer these questions:
1) "When and why did you join Free Republic?"
2) "What was going on at the time?" (Top movies, favorite song(s), price of gas, etc.)
3) "What happened on that day in history?"
Of possible further interest:

FRmail me if you want on or off the F/S Singles' Thread Ping List. It will only be used for pinging to the official thread, and will never be used for any other purpose.

A special thanks to Paul_Denton for keeping the thread going in my absence.

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots
conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse,
to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

Oh no,there are villages 10-15 minutes away,Saratoga Springs is about 45 minutes and Albany is a little over an hour.
I confess I rarely go beyond the villages although my first job after I gave up milking cows at home was in Saratoga.
Can be a zoo in August during the summer race season for the horses.

I do have a Les Paul and Mary Ford album here! And Nat King Cole doing "When I Fall in Love". I love that song...
When my brother got married this spring, they played that for their first dance. *snif*

"Saturday night, and I ain't got nobody..."
Hey, we're here as someone said. Anyhoo, it is nice to do some chillin' out, watching "Spiderman" on TNT and watching my calico cat, Pansy, she will be 19 years old next year, walking about and hollerin' up a storm. She has been waking me up in the middle of the night hollerin' and playing since 1987 so I'm used to it. B-) I have a total of 8 cats total where I'm surrounded by the majority of them right now.

Oh! No, I'm just remembering. It was a beautiful moment.
I know I've mentioned it before, but they're expecting their first in early January. My brother is so nervous it's rather amusing. I can't wait, though! This is the first niece / grandchild for our side of the family.

One of my two is busy warming the bed, I think. The brat is alternately trying to open the coat closet and wandering around howling.
To: carlr
No,you get old taking it easy.
Ha! So true!

Oh! No, I'm just remembering. It was a beautiful moment. I was just kidding. But, I think it's good for everyone to know that this is a thread for like-minded singles, not a thread about singleness.
This is no pity party! We're having fun!

I wish I could claim credit for it -- it cracks me up everytime I see it.

That's the way I look at it, I just let God in control of when He will lead the "right one" to me, or me to her. It's up to Him.

I really like his version of "When I Fall In Love" - I hadn't heard it before!
