Tom Cruise will personally mingle with some of the firefighters who battled the horrific scene during 9/11 tonight.
The actor and his fiance, Katie Holmes, host a fundraising benefit in New York City tonight, amid blistering criticism.
Cruise has been criticized by fire-fighters injured in the 9/ll attacks - for suggesting they use Scientology to heal themselves and abandon alternative methods.
The actor has reportedly urged people suffering the effects of smoke inhalation from the terrorist attacks to quit using their medication and inhalers - and start drinking cooking oil.
The 'purification' program also reportedly advises people to take large doses of niacin and indulgence in plenty of sauna baths.
The Hollywood nutcase - a co-founder of the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project - has also supported a new Scientology clinic humping the Mazola remedies.
Doctors have reportedly dismissed the treatment as 'quackery'.
Deputy Fire Commissioner Frank Gribbon told PageSix.com: 'If our doctors are prescribing medication, and they (Scientologists) are saying, 'don't take it', that's a problem for us.'
Tom and Katie are more than happy to share their secrets and meet and greet the heroic firefighters and others at the gala event this evening, with only one small detail. Ticket prices started at $6,250. Proceeds from the event benefit the "project." For the record, the median salary for New York Firefighters is $46,160.
The controversial program purports to cleanse the body using a proprietary L. Ron Hubbard technique.
On the Project's website, www.detox.org, President Jim Woodworth describes the results, "Patients have had black paste coming out of their pores in the sauna. Their sweat has stained towels purple, blue, orange, yellow and black. They have reported bowel movements that are blue, or green, or that have smelled like smoke -despite the fact that they had not been at a fire scene for months."
Cruise made headlines this year with his couch-jumping ways on Oprah, his attack against Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants and his berating of Matt Lauer about psychiatry.
Is humping margarine good for you?
nothing wrong with it if there's nothing else around with which to hump
Xenu sez 'hi.'
(Brando voice): Pass me the butter.
Figures.
Freaking nutcases...all of 'em. Sheesh!
Who cares what a freaking movie actor thinks about medicine?
Did you here that he's gay? I heard he was gay.
Lord, give me strength. Tom, where did you get your medical degree? Oh, I see. Well, then, where did you get your college degree? Oh, uh, ok, I see. Well, could you tell, me, then, uh, Tom, where did you get your high school diploma? Oh, ok, no problem..Tom, when was it you got your GED? Oh...uh... no big deal...you did, I take it finish the eighth grade?
It's sure better than going out and committing sexual assault, but please do it in the privacy of your home.
of course. I don't want to end up as the subject of an article posted here and be ridiculed by all:
"naked man arrested for humping margarine on his front lawn"
Hey Tommie, give up on this latest fad and start taking your thorazine and lithium again.
I do think meds are way over-prescribed, especially for "problem" children; however, it sounds like Cruise and the Scientologists are brainwashed nitwits. Perhaps some good can come out of this if people realize that overpaid actors are not to be trusted for political or medical advice.
The Scientologists probably own a bunch of Unilever stock.
LOL Yeah, can you imagine how much that company appreciates this "free advertisement" for Mazola? Good grief!
Haven't you heard?? He "knows" all about psychiatry because he's read all about it! (Bet he didn't stay at a Holiday Express, though...)
Cruise makes a guest appearance at the beginning of Denis Leary's Peanuts comedy skit.
Tom, come out of the closet!
Come out of the closet Tom.
