WHO SHALL WIN?
My 'Boys are giving me ulcers. I had my wife and dogs scared to death with all the screaming and histrionics! They sure make it interesting win or lose!
Things are looking mighty iffy in Houston... I know fans sometimes urge their own team to lose in order to get the 1st pick but a team should never purposely blow it and to me, its looking darn suspect of them throwing games (yea, no one can be THIS bad can they?).
If I was Houston...i would trade the #1 for a friggin line...screw Reggie Bush.
Seattle is probably going to wind up with home field advantage but the 'Boys should have beaten them out there.
You wonder where this effort was the last two weeks. Today, Dallas never gave up. One of the things that helped was that we didn't have to make many 80 and 90 yard drive. And we didn't turn the ball over. Big help. All in all, it was a great team win against a good KC team. A well earned victory!
Hmm. Interesting. I'm away from the computer all day doing stuff, and I come back to find out the Giants pull a squeaker over the Eagles in OT.
My my. Yet for some reason, it's not that surprising. 'Any given Sunday'. It's a motto I know well. After all, the down-and-not-quite-out Giants managed to hand the previously unbeaten Broncos their first loss in 1998...remember?
In any case, I'm afraid I wasn't around to witness the game being played at ALL; I didn't get home until NFL Primetime had already ended.
In any case, Tiki had another big day running with 124 yards. Eli Manning was 28/44 for 312 yards, 1 TD passing, 1 TD rushing...and in the final two quarters of the game (4th and OT), he threw for three interceptions. Oy vey. A work in progress, Eli is. Shockey also had a big day; 10 catches for 107 yards. It's a bit surprising that Mr. Tall (Plaxico Burress) only caught two passe, however.
Defensively, the only sore spot was the fact that the Eagles' R. Moats managed to run for over 100 yards against us. Despite that, the front four were dominant; Strahan got two sacks, and Osi got 1.5. There was also a fumble recovery.
However, the star for the Giants today was Jay Feely...who scored all four of his field goals, including the game winner in OT.
Next week, the Giants face a powerful Chiefs team that lost today to Dallas...by a squeaker. That's the motif of the day, ain't it? :-P
Three games left.
Here's hoping the Giants end up with 12-4.
Till next week, this is Ultra Sonic 007 providing a recap.
There were at least four other games Dallas should have won. Oakland, Washington, the Giants last week and Denver. That's woulda, coulda, shoulda. We're 8 & 5 and with the Panthers our only serious threat left, our prospects for a playoff berth looks pretty good.
GO COWBOYS!!!!!
Cowboys can't win any of the tie breakers with the Giants, so the Giants have to lose 2 out of 3 while the Cowboys win out for the Cowboys to win the Division. The Giants will at worst have the same Division record assuming a loss against Washington, and they have a better record against common opponents (even if they lose to KC and Oakland).
As for wildcards, it looks like Dallas will need to win out to get the final spot, or
Wow, maybe Green Bay is the worst. It's not often the Lions push anyone around.
I missed the pre-game, it's colder than it looks.
Oddly enough, Miami is still alive! If the Steelers collapse against weak opposition, the Phish could get the 6th seed. (SD and KC have vicious schedules remaining, and both could easily finish 9-7. They'd all end with 7-5 conference records, and Miami just took SD head-to-head.)
Manning seems to have regressed over the last 4-5 games, too.
Giants RT Kareem McKenzie (hamstring), LT Luke Petitgout (ankle), DT William Joseph (leg) and MLB Antonio Pierce (back) left with injuries in the first half.
...well crap.
The chartered flight that will take Dallas to Washington should fly back to Dallas after letting off the team. If they win, the plane would go back and pick them up, if they lose, they have to arrange their own way back to Dallas.
My heart pumps peanutbutter for the Giants. It's the luck factor in play. Their bad luck is Dallas' good luck. KC, Washington, and Oakland doesn't look promising for NY. We have our own problems with Washington, Carolina, and St. Louis. Right now Dallas is a healthy team. KC will be pissed at losing to the Cowboys. The Giants will have to pay for that.
Thanks for the recap, 007. You're good. :-)
*bows*
And once again the Lions find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Watching the ESPN highlights from today... Just wanted to say that what Witten did after his touchdown today was very cool: he walked over and tossed it to a boy in a wheelchair - whose eyes LIT UP when he saw it coming and caught it in a hug. Classy.
And I'm an Eagles fan! ;)
I saw that too, no fag dance by Witten..just a calm walk to the wheelchair boy and he hands hims the gift.
I really like Witten and he is a very dedendable player too.
He reminds me of Jay Novacek. You wont see him missing many catches either and he always gets a few more yards than it looks like he will get.
That boys eyes really did light up, thats what its all about in the end.
