New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
{echoes your happy sigh}
Oh, "Let's Stay Together" is one of my all time favorite songs!!
Blue eyed soul? Were you Righteous, Brother?
! Morpheus in Cowboy drag?
She sang "Into the West", on the ROTK soundtrack.
That's what I thought!
Yes, Jen... Annie Lennox sang "Into the West", the song at the Grey Havens in RoTK... and it won best original song at the Oscars.
Whitney Houston's version of our National Anthem during the first Gulf War is among the best I've ever heard. I'd be happy if no one else was ever allowed to sing that song in public :~D
Frank Sinatra is of course a great voice, but I am not a big fan either (my husband heaves a big sigh and shakes his head) not because his voice isn't worthy, but because the lyrics of his songs are always so dang corny.
Hey! Come derry dol! Hop along, my dooby-dooby doos...
LOL - Now there's a pretty good fit :~D
Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words...hold my hand
In other words...darling kiss me
Fill my life with song
And let me sing forevermore
You are all I hope for
All I worship and adore
In other words please be true
In other words I love you
Corny or not, I still love that song.
*sigh*
Thought I dunno that Frank Sinatra's is my favorite version.
You still can't have my Bud Lite. ;~D
Michael Buble sings it too. ;-)
Just from the samples, I'm thinkin' I wouldn't mind having a CD or two of his.
So are Sinatra's songs deep and meaningful if one is in an altered state?
hehehehe....
Shucks.
I think everyone has sung that one... seems like.
hmmm
