Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah, I figured it was a form of wallowed, but I was confused about your using it in the context of Luke going with y'all. Did he waller around while the music was going on? Considering your description of it, I could imagine myself wanting to waller, too.
I do remember our Christmas programs when I was in the chorus in high school. The director always wanted us to sing a cappela, but we didn't usually pull it off so well. When we did, you could have knocked us over with a feather, and the audience would always chuckle at the looks of sheer joy on our faces when we realized we'd actually ended on the right notes!

Did he waller around while the music was going on? Yep, mostly on and off of my lap. But, considering the fact that ~we~ got bored he actually did fairly well.

Morning!
I think it is Friday. Or something. For me, anyway. All I have to do today is pack and finish getting ready to leave town.

I saw a squirrel out in the backyard and decided to chase it...just for something to do, you know? So I took off full grunt after that squirrel, caught my foot on the edge of the garden bed and fell face forward going full speed. Knocked a bump on my head where I hit the opposite edge of the garden bed (plastic edging) and thought I'd broke my left arm.
I got up and my left arm didn't seem to want to work. Covered with garden dirt. Joshua heard me yell and he and Matthew ran out in the PJs to see if I was ok!
I took a hot soak. Just got out. I have a red mark on my upper left arm, the arm feels "weak" but doesn't hurt (pulled muscle?) and my neck feels stiff. Gotta big lump on my head.
Heh! The squirrel seems to have made a clean getaway.

Ha ha! I know!
I think the arm is "frogged"...you know what that means? When someone punches you in the arm and you can't move your arm for time? That's what it feels like.

It's the sad reality we all come to accept... we ain't 7 no more... and we can't go flyin' off the porch like we used to, without risk of embarrassment and injury. :~D

What would you have done if you had caught the squirrel?
To: 2Jedismom
*Sigh*
Ya need at least a BB gun. Leave the chasing to the dogs!

we can't go flyin' off the porch like we used to, without risk of embarrassment and injury. Heh...When I was in the teens, we used to play tag with the neighbor boys (3 yrs older and they were popular in school) off the roof to our house. Run up the antenna ladder, across the roof and jump off the porch side which was a little closer to the ground...probably 7-8 feet off the deck. :-) My mom woulda killed me. I don't see how children live to be adults.

Office mate pointed out that it said "happy" not "healthy."
