Say after me: This whole scenario is made up by a nutjob and the dilemma doesn't exist. :~D
Oh, I know. ;-) It's just hard to walk away when it *is* so obviously nutty.
Let's see...what to do today? Maybe jobs will actually be posted.
You know, I did have a thought occur to me that *could* mean something good: the way the referral thing at the college works, they interview folks in groups of three and hire one, as I said. Now, I was initially in 11th place but got interviewed months ago because that position wanted to check EVERYONE. But the fact that I was referred the other week likely means that I'm now in the top three - the eight or however many before me have been hired or taken off the list.
In other words...maybe I'll get more calls. One can hope.
Howdy stranger!! Clare has decided to head for warmer climes for college; she's going to Naples, FL! Today is one of those days that it looks like a wonderful place to be, too. We're having a snowstorm that they're saying will , by the time it's over this evening, dump 10-18" of snow on us!
Especially since their own kiosk wasn't working! Good grief!
Uh - yeah - if it's a register list I think that's how it works. You should get called for any opening. Our state jobs here are that way.
Call the temp agency and say you just need something. They do get calls for misc. clerical assignments I'm sure. Heck. I folded form letters and stuffed envelopes once for an assignment. Anything would do ya good till the phone rings.
Mmmm...snow...
So Clare's definitely decided on Ave Maria? That's awesome! She'll have to report in!
I may go to Shawnee and actually help the fire fighters that are coming in from out of state! I'll work in the feeding unit, providing meals to them! Disaster Relief is going to let me know if and when I am needed!
I hardly dare to get my hopes up!
I'm at the library. Waiting for a page from the phone company saying they are heading to my house.
Sounds Good 2J. Let us know!
Any hope for rain in your forecast?
Not a drop. It's misery here, sis. I feel so bad for the rural folks who've lost homes and barns and such.
We drove by the fire that was down from us and it was unbelievable. They were able to stop it at the high way but there was a hugh swath of burned land. Right across the highway was a subdivision. They evacuated it during the fire, of course. But it would have had to have jumped the Arkansas River to get to us. With the winds the way they were, it could've, but they were able to stop it.
And even the median a mile or so away from me on a major street has a big burned place.
It's supposed to be worse today. Low humidity. High winds.
The really amazing, but not unbelievable thing is that normally on New Years there are huge numbers of fireworks being set off all around and this year there was only a handful that you could hear on occasion. People are being very cautious.
I love Oklahoma...have I said that before?
It's just really odd to have drought and fire danger in January, isn't it?
Whew - I just cruised that thread and I'm agahst. Y'all are brave hobbits for wading into that one.
It's really strange. Supposed to be like 76 degrees here!
I gotta log off. I'll hopefully check in this evening. I'll let you know if I go to Shawnee.
Please do 2J!
Relationships are too complex to paint with such large brushes.
PS: That's so lovely, Jen! Made my heart swell!
.....Is Super Nasty Pervo-Guy still out there?
Mine!
