Doesn't McDonalds advertise their hamburgers, fries and shakes anymore?

Anyone remember the last time they saw a McDonalds advertisement for their Big Macs, Quarter Pounders with cheese, french fries, egg mcmuffins, etc.? You know, all the unhealthy stuff that made life worth living?
It seems these days the only items on their menu they advertise for is their salads and chicken sandwiches and nothing else.
The last time I recall seeing a McDonalds tv commercial that promoted their Big Macs, fries, shakes, egg mcmuffins, was when I was a kid.
And whatever happened to their tv advertisement characters like: Hamburglar, Grimace, Mayor McCheese? I miss those guys.

I hate to admit it but the McDonalds lobster roll is not bad. The roll is not toasted so can get a touch soggy.
Feels funny ordering a lobster roll, fries and a chocolate shake at a drive through.
For non-New Englanders, I am being serious that McDonalds has lobster rolls.

I think the spread is the higher form. "Cheese-food product" cannot quite bring itself to claim to be food at all.
"Food? Maybe. Let's just say it's a 'product.'"

If you made burgers and fries like that, would YOU tell anyone about it? I like their big macs and fries (Though I can do without the salt they dust their fries with)

I know "cheese food" is higher than "cheese spread." I didn't realize "product" was another thing entirely.

They don't need to advertise those items. It's what they sell the most.

Who doesn't know you can get burgers, shakes, and fries at McD? Their commercials are focused on giving people other reasons to come to their store -- whether it is for a "healthy" alternative or for a new or improved product (like the chicken strips -- sooooo much better than the mystery-meat McNuggets).
Wasting their time advertising the basics would be like Exxon running commercials saying that they sell gasoline.

They made better commercials way back when they were advertising their basic (hamburger, fries) items.

It ain't about making better commercials, it's about selling more product. Some of the most entertaining commercials I've ever seen did diddly-squat for the sales of the sponsor.
